Re: Map Project, Seeking Collaborator

If we work hard enough I don't see this project taking more than a week, but if we go at a slower pace (maybe 3-4 days a week, a few hours a day) I would say 2-3 weeks and we should have it done. I would prefer to make cuts before extending the project to a month. Well there is a prob I have made m...

Re: [Help] How do you use triggers/custom scripts?

some stuff to get you started: hotspots are defined in data/objects/hotspots the scripts for them are in data/scripts/hotspots they have a function which is called on enter, one which is called when a character exits it and since some updates theres an update function, p.e. the emitter hotspot uses...

[Help] How do you use triggers/custom scripts?

I've literally been scouring this website and the wiki all day. All I want to do for a map is create a script with a "key" boolean that equals true when you reach a "must-visit trigger", and once another must-visit trigger is visited if the key variable is true, the door gets des...

some of us even have school (including me) so maybe you have to change your timeframe a bit
So do I.
I expect to be doing most of the busy/grunt work, but the time will be adjusted if needed when I find someone.

Re: Map Project, Seeking Collaborator

I can't help you, but I am curious: does it usually take that long to make a map? Or is it because you would like to put out something particularly elaborated? I don't think a week is very long for a map. Between the ground work (level design and enemy placement), play testing, decoration and art, ...

Map Project, Seeking Collaborator

Hi everyone! I've wanted to make a map for Overgrowth for a while now, and since summer has come I think I will have the free time to do it. What I really want out of a project like this is to have a fun map that a lot of people can enjoy, and also something I could showcase in my portfolio. I'd lik...

Board game maker using this game?

How easy would it be to allow users to change the pictures that the game board and cards are using, put a few dozen game pieces and allow users to determine the quantity of pieces and change the color of the pieces? This would essentially allow people to make and recreate almost any board game with ...

Re: The most badass room clearing in Receiver ever

If you sheet the green box, then you'd stop them from shooting. It's a pretty big target. Yes, but they also are still completely functional, meaning you can't actually tell if they are broken (with disabling the camera they can't beep anymore) and they have one chambered bullet they can fire at yo...

Re: The most badass room clearing in Receiver ever

I felt it was pretty badass. I've never actually taken down every single one of the robots in one room like that. I tend to play on slomo. It makes the game a lot more fun to me, but with that, I've taken down up to 3 or more bots simultaneously. It's easier when they are in close corners because y...

Re: The most badass room clearing in Receiver ever

Sorry but that's neither entertaining nor a display of skill. I personally burst into every room guns blazing with an astonishing survival rate of about 10%. Regardless, at least 5% of the 10% of the time where I do live is quite more interesting than this video.

Re: Receiver-alike "Relock" on Kickstarter

The video has a lack of professionalism, and not to offend you, but you look like some kind of punk skater who old people yell at for breaking mundane rules. The actual format of the video is good, but there isn't actually a lot of "wow" going on in terms of gameplay. When it comes to the ...

Re: Possible Additions for Next Receiver Build

A lot of these ideas are really on the wrong track and really don't share the vision with the game...EMP bullets and grenades especially.... I would like to see additions to the game that really take advantage of the mechanics, such as a target practice range that includes best times for reloading y...

Re: What is the gameplay of OG like?

The fighting is a bit fast but it's more strategic and calculated to me. You have to time your blocks and rolls from when you get hit. It seems imbalanced right now, as a single drop kick kills just about anything in one hit and is unblockable. Weapons are similarly imbalanced and the health is conf...

Re: Receiver Melee item concept (image)

I have to disagree. The whole core concept of the game is the advanced gun mechanics and how the realism of handling a real life gun can be fun in a game. Having a made up weapon introduced exclusively for close combat undermines the entire point of the game.
