That kind of makes me wonder... Does anyone think its possible to have a romantic interest for the protaganist* in a compuer game that isn't absolutely rubbish? It almost always feels forced or fake. Then again, romance does make you say really weird shit. Any thoughts? Edit: For anyone who's played...

Sounds like a cool idea, but i'd rather avoid being able to use it to achieve anything meaningful externally. I think being able to imagine anyone you've met and practice fight them would be a neat way to safely practice moves without getting your tail handed to you. As far as domestic policy goes n...

I suppose its all off the point which was originally that killing kids is considered worse than adults. I don't see what that has to do with war Zantalos, but I see that you were just using that to try and illustrate a point. The point i was making is that generally people consider their own governm...

Hey now, you get plenty of warning, you get leaflet drops. If you don't want to be nuked, surrender, if you don't want to be in a war, vote, if you simply do not want to die, leave. This shouldn't be asking for too much... However if you're a fanatic who does want war or a Taliban who doesn't care ...

I agree the maths is a little biased, but I was trying to point out how even with only three parties the represenation of your peoples choice can get really, really low. If you bomb the crap out of them you're going to kill more people who didn't want that government in than those that did. That was...

I had a lot of fun with Fable, and it is cool that it is coming to Mac. For some reason in RPGs I always end up with a good character who wears evil-looking equipment . Wow. Didn't see that one coming; its not like Turner is a dark brooding anti-hero struggling against inner demons but essentially ...

Oh - and while we're on the subject - why is killing children worse than killing adults? Because the adults can fight back I assume. Except of course that often they can't. Meh. Ethics need to be consistent imo and these just aren't :P I'm going to bring this back up. Maybe you feel that since you ...

I suppose the real question in all of this is what role do we want our players to take. Protaganist or Antaganist? Its interesting to me that not matter how many games will let you play an evil character all that really amounts to is killing things. Which seems to match up perfectly with playing goo...

I could swear that I've said this before; what exactly is the deal with sex in games? Why is it considered acceptable to put horrific amounts of violence into games and yet sex, a more natural and much less offensive act, isn't? I just don't get it. Now sure, rape I understand. Thats one of the wors...
