Knowledge is power.

And you can knock someone out with a throw...

Re: Contemplate This

Uberbeard, I think you only got part of the chinese symbol.
Missing some of the upper strokes

I see this:

In Japanese it is called REN and means group, follower. (Rough translation here.)

No idea, why this should be anything special, though.

Re: The "John's beard" thread!

I know what problems robots have with dancing. Trajectory isn't it. That's high-school level mathematics. Trust me, I'm in high-school. Balance is the only problem, which would be a BIG problem with almost any dance. Still, robots can get around even that issue. My comment still stands either way. ...

Re: The "John's beard" thread!

That's not really true. The problems robots are having with dancing are 1) balancing problems: It is hard to prevent them from falling. 2) trajectory prolems: complicated fluid movements have to use complicated joints and are harder to program than straightforward linear movements. The robot dance o...

You know, this kind of thread is the prime example, why this sort of child protection software is useless. You just can't prevent the user to ask questions on forums and getting the necessary knowledge to circumvent the protection, unless the protection program uses restrictive white lists for the s...

PS: I don't know how that image (the one with the car) defeats the deafness one. Can someone please enlighten me? This explains what the logo means, and the "image with the car" (and three people, who happen to be the main characters of Ghost in the shell: Stand Alone Complex) is related ...

Re: Diagnosis, please.

Just to get some facts behind this pedophile-catholic connection. This article is quite interesting to read. Because it shows how bad it really is. The statement, read out by Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Vatican's permanent observer to the UN, defended its record by claiming that "available r...

Re: Linux, Your Opinions Please

Hmm, I don't know too much about Linux, not a regular user. I only have a Linux partition for the occasional testing, some c++ programming for university and remote network access because I couldn't bring myself to do that in Windows. But I have some advice for you: Get the terminlogy right. You ask...

I have an explanation for the hallucinations. They can be side effects of fever and dehydration. At least I usually get mild hallucinations when I have high fever. Wasn't seriously ill for years now though.
