Re: *Achievment unlocked - how the...*
Well yeah, it's nice to get certain achievements that require a bit of skill, but I was talking to a guy in an XBox Live Party the other day and I asked him what he was doing, he said he was "trying to get the achievement in Prototype where you have to collect all the orbs in the game". I...

Re: *Achievment unlocked - how the...*
Yeah...I find that rather bizarre to be honest. They're such empty rewards. There is no fulfillment. It's nice when a game shows that you did something difficult, like completed the game on the highest difficult setting or without taking any damage or whatever. Freespace 2 did that well: instead of...

Re: *Achievment unlocked - how the...*
I don't think I've played games with achievements, unless you count flash games, but I did win in ADOM. It was "just" a normal ending, but took me a couple of years of on-and-off playing to do that. It's a roguelike, so dying erases your savegame - the character I won with wasn't my most p...

Modo! You even kept the arm.
Very nice, one more reminder I should draw more and even if I do, I'd still be way behind the good artists...

Advertising isn't always about getting people to buy something. ... What? People buying or using the product is the end result. If advertising gets people talking about the product, the discussion may make them want to buy it. Publicity can be worth lots of money. People only watch that advert beca...

Re: Somebody, somewhere, thought this was a good idea.
Advertising isn't always about getting people to buy something. The video you linked into has been watched over 800 000 times, VOLUNTARILY, during the two years it's been up. That's over 800 people daily, on average, JUST on Youtube, and JUST this video. All that publicity was easily worth whatever ...

Re: The missing races.
They have machinery complex enough to create solid metal knives. You have seen these in Lugaru. Swords, too. And from the concept art of the cat - Well... There's quite some forge needed to create that . So a simple boat should be way old news. "complex machinery" and "solid metal kn...

Probably, unless there will be skeletons. Skeletons are a big no-no, it got a WoW expansion (the lich king one) blocked. Doesn't normal WoW have skeletons? Not in China, I understand. They have zombies instead of skeletons. Tokage, thanks for the extra facts. I knew a bit about this, but hadn't rea...

Probably because you can't spell it. He meant Tiananmen square, and he'd probably have to write it in pictograms any way. He is right. Wikipedia has several pages that describe censorship in China, with article names such as Google China or Internet Censorship in People's Republic of China. ...

Also, don't you think having tigers in the same game as rats and rabbits is sorta stretching the scale? Rats and wolves is already pushing it. Wolves and tigers aren't that far apart size wise. :| Your point? It's not that hard to see, really. A. Rat and Wolf in same game is near the limit. B. Tige...

Re: "What Are You Playing" Thread
I recently finished Knytt and played through several Knytt Stories. I'm currently playing through "An untitled story" by Matt Makes Games . It's a platformer in which you are free to explore the world - quite a concept! :D There are lots of bosses, and lots of different areas, and the abil...
