Re: Overgrowth as Best Upcoming Indie (ModDB Editors choice)

Congratulations to all, though I have to admit, Infinity and Frozen Synapse are looking great.

Re: Background

True, but John's the one that does that, and I really don't want to make him go find whatever file it is, when Jeff's the one that maintains the site.

Lol. Didn't really mean it like that, but it would be helpful.

Background

Jeff, Hey, I was wondering if I could snatch the tileable background image you use for the blog (the one that looks like fur). I'm making an Android App for the wolfire blog just to get acquainted with the SDK, and right now the UI is pretty drab. Also, if there's a transparent image file with the w...

Ah, my fault then. Still, I don't see why it would be any better at word processing than a regular laptop.

Re: iPad

Evidence? I mean, really, it runs the exact same apps as the iTouch. How is it possibly better for schoolwork than a basic netbook? There isn't even any actual word processing system besides a bunch of "notes" apps.

AAaaaa.... use periods! I can't understand what the plot's supposed to be when the sentences never end! Image

Edit: As a side note, these new smileys are no where near as cool as the old ones.

I'd assume so. It's basically the same OS as the iTouch.

Re: iPad

I really don't see any reason to get one. I mean, it's literally just an iTouch with a bigger screen and a few upgraded specs.

Plus, if it's trying to fill the void between Netbook and phone, the lack of flash is a real bummer. I really don't see a reason to use it over my netbook though.

Re: Overgrowth-Windows 7?

You'll need the Microsoft C++ 2005 Runtime or whatever it is. Don't exactly remember the name. Do a search for "side-by-side" or something similar on the forums. There's been a few with similar problems. Edit: Wait, nevermind. Check this thread: http://forums.wolfire.com/viewtopic.php?f=13...

Oh, yeah, I was citing the reference to show how not to make it.

In the end, though, the design really doesn't matter anyway as long as you have good content.

Hehe. Pointers.

Nehe is always the best for OpenGL in my opinion, though it is in c++. I believe every tutorial has source code in multiple languages at the bottom, so it still might work out.
