Re: Wolves
Well, if they can instantly kill you, it makes sense that there's a way to instantly kill them right back.

Re: Wolfire Site going up and down?
App Engine was down last night, according to the official Wolfire Twitter account. I'd say that's why.
Blame Google.

Re: Phoenix Engine licensing for other indie developers?
That's what happens for most Source mods that become a game. Once they get enough support and fans as a mod, they liscense the engine and are no longer required to have HL2 as a constraint. See 'The Ship' for an example of a sourcemod turned into a full scale game. The problem with that is the fact...

Re: Phoenix Engine licensing for other indie developers?
Phoenix Engine shouldn't be cheap just because it's made by five guys, but the mods for this mod-friendly game could become distinct enough to be sold on their own. But selling those mods on their own would no doubt require the ability to compile a new binary that doesn't depend on Overgrowth. Unle...

Phoenix Engine licensing for other indie developers?
Before anyone replies with something to the effect of "DUDE SLOW DOWN THEY HAVENT EVEN FINISHED OVERGROWTH HOLY OMNIDIRECTIONAL JESUS", this is pure speculation about possibilities for the future. You know, like science fiction, except with less spaceships and more missing semicolon errors...

Re: So about a skin..
Is it the sort of thing that might spark a large amount of mature content-tagged screenshot uploads to FurAffinity?
Because I'd love to see it in that case.
Yes, I'm shameless.

Re: Trouble dealing with wolves
In cases where there was more than one wolf in a level, I found myself trying to get the attention of one of them and then jump-flipping backwards a lot to lure it away from any others. And even then, one misplaced attack or one millisecond of Shift-holding too long could be my downfall, especially ...

Re: Dialogue Editor Corrupting My Maps (Yes I Tried Hex Editing)
you did remember to change the number of boxes specified at the beginning of the files to how many there are right? and dialogues can never be over 128 characters per box. other than that your good it seems. Did both. Dialogue Boxes: 26 at the beginning of the file, no line of text has more than 12...

Dialogue Editor Corrupting My Maps (Yes I Tried Hex Editing)
I'm trying to work on a new Lugaru campaign with a bit of an emphasis on cinematic storytelling (or, in game design jargon, it's less ludological), so naturally I'm kind of interested in adding dialogues. And it works perfectly, I'm getting all the symbolic cinematography and timely cuts that would ...

Re: OS X 10.5.6 Install/run problem
I have 10.5.6 and it runs fine. Perhaps MacHeist actually DID somehow give you the OS 9 version. Try the one at http://www.wolfire.com/free-lugaru Or, if you have a key already, download the OS X demo and enter it when you get the "Register!!!" prompt. And write the key down, you can't Com...

Re: Black shades 2????? after lugaru 2????
I personally feel like Black Shades works better as a smaller arcade-style game than a full-blown cinematic action adventure whatever. I'd love for a graphical update to Black Shades and some gameplay tweaks, but adding a storyline to it would either be killing the frenetic silliness that made the o...
