Honestly, I have no idea what Jeff was supposedly talking about. This bears repeating. I've been on the Lugaru team since Lugaru 1 was a beta of a game engine and I've never heard anything about any dead humans or old human civilizations. As far as I always assumed, Lugaru takes place in its own, s...

Vib rib, your comics are actually super funny. You have an excellent way with dialogue, and comedic timing, in particular. Color me surprised and impressed - you certainly exceeded my expectations mightily. If I were a mod I'd split this topic into two threads, and keep the first one focused on your...

I think it's a good effort, and the folks here are being a little harsh. Just curious... was this done in iWeb? Some of us on the Lugaru 2 team have been working on a new site design, dark text on an earth-tone background and a little more engaging in the navigation department. Although Jeff's post...

i see a lot of next-gen games with super blocky shadows, it seems like. i always figured it was because tracing every model for a more accurate shadow used way too much cpu. i'd expect david has managed to code it so that this is not the case

Thanks for the feedback Silb. Side-by-side you can see a lot of time went into the face and head. I always thought the fur in the older texture was too uniform, like a rug; hence the varying levels of high contrast. But to each his own, of course  -- feel free to paste the new head on the old ...

http://blog.wolfire.com/?p=42 Look at the screens.. self shadowing very clearly visible. I think we're talking about two different things. There's certainly shading on Turner in the screenshots, but self-shadowing usually refers to something more specific. This is an example, as is this . Notice on...

Alternate textures for rabbits and armor

Hi all. If you don't know me, I did most of the original texture work on Lugaru 1. Nice to meet ya. I've really enjoyed discovering everyone's work on new assets - from the t-shirt project to Silb's amazing Temple Campaign. Amazing work guys, this has got to be the most talented fan base of any game...

Well, I'm not coding the game, but I have no reason to think you couldn't play it on a fast G5 as well as any of the new intel machines. Those dual- and quad-core G5 desktops are fast, believe me. FWIW. As for the whole team signing a copy, that's an awesome idea, but the team is pretty spread out. ...

Lugaru on Intel Mac

My first reports of running Lugaru 1 on an Intel-chipped Mac (a Macbook Pro) via Rosetta are that it runs spectacularly.
We're all excited to see how Lugaru 2 will run, but that's still a ways away.
