Thanks a lot for not recording a laggy video just to make a disruptive point. There has been more than enough of it already. The throw glitches are issues related to the environment. With a simple environment and a little interpolation, throws look OK. It's not so much about physics as about kinemat...

I was careful not to say there was procedural anims in L1 because I honestly don't know. There might be some IK here and there, but I can't really tell since it's either fast or blurred. And then again, I'm not sure if IK and ragdolling are to be regarded as procedural animation. Technically, even s...

The point in those videos is that in Lugaru you have to show style, you cannot win every single battle with one exact same move sequence. I've seen evidence to the contrary on YT: a 100%-reversal challenge, for instance. Same as 100%-PPK in Oni. Wall jumps seem to systematically take enemies off th...

David, I know what you think of the Sledgehammer Heel, but isn't it equally pointless to beat a L1 level on reversals alone? Besides, that move is easily countered by Oni's harder AI on Ultra Mode, not to mention heavily modded AI behaviour. For what it's worth: I hardly use the Sledgehammer Heel at...

Moving this here in case my last edit went unnoticed. @ Zantalos: Sidestepping would make sense for circling an opponent (or trying to). That would require some target locking, which could serve other purposes, too. There's some Nightshade-inspired target locking in Pierre Terdiman's Konoko Payne. h...

He didn't. He came to post what he did in the first post of this thread, and the usual Wolfire-forum-ness brought that out. Partially my fault. Thanks U479. I wouldn't say the last few posts are anyone's fault... they just happened. I'm not a gamer (more like a post-developer). And I've been under ...

You don't have the full version of Lugaru? You really haven't seen any group fighting, then. Seen three on one. Didn't enjoy it. Didn't buy L1 by fear of more of the same. Probably won't buy it at this point. Might. Probably won't. Might... :) Too busy with Oni ATM. Not playing games in general (no...

You can see many samples of Oni action on YouTube. E.g., here: http://www.youtube.com/group/onitoo Seen the video I linket to in the topic starter? http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=rV1j0q63KFg The player does the slide as soon as 0:06. And a sorta flip throw as soon as 0:25 :) (the enemy bumps into the...

No one is a moron. I'm not happy. What's AE? I don't play L1 much (truth is, I only have the demo). And I don't enjoy fighting multiple enemies, either :) Which is the whole point of this discussion, of course. In Oni, group battles are fun. Messy, but a lot of fun. The confusion around the leg swee...
