you also have to keep the 'uncanny valley' in mind. who knows age of empires 3, how you could watch your hometown flourish, and each person would go about their daily activity. i don't know to what degree NPC's will engage in non-combat activities, but if they ever did wander around, purchasing goods, carrying loads, hobbies, working... i would love ...

I don't think this is necessary at all, i think it is a complication to the game-play that lugaru and overgrowth are aiming to avoid. i don't see how this would help a mod either. The fighting style of turner is completely up to the player, they are not pre programmed. if you want to do fast attacks...

It's no stranger an idea than hitpoints, is it? The main complaint about the idea seems to be that you've called it luck. So... er... don't call it luck, i guess.
