In most games where this has been implemented, I didn't really see it improve the game as such... It became less of a tactic-fighting game and more 'omg-gotta-go-raged-so-I-can-kill-the-barstuds' kinda thing. I'd be all for the idea if it was there, but very, very subtly. Have you firstly activated it, though?
As in, went into the config.txt and changed 'debug 0' into 'debug 1'?
Make sure you make a backup of the file before you fiddle about with it, though...
