Re: OGW Q&A with David Rosen

It would be really great if you were to answer this question for me as I am doing a research project on the subject at school. :) To begin with you had quite a small following, so I'm wondering, what is the most effective thing an indie developer can do in order to advertise their game successfully?...

Anyone seen this weird spambot before?

There's a kind of spambot which I found really strange and I'm trying to get to the bottom of. It fills up forums and websites with posts of the pattern [phone number] + [occupation, often black magic or love] + "in" + [country or city]. The only thing that remains the same between posts i...

Re: Overgrowth Linux problems and their solutions/workaround

Hey, I've looked around and couldn't find an answer to this. I imagine this is a linux-specific problem, as I've only had it happen on linux. Anyway, I'm running Xubuntu 14.04 Trusty, with fglrx and an R9 270, and my sky and cubemaps are all upside down! The ground is in the sky, and as a result all...

Re: Chartre's "Chader Pack": Improved SSAO, DOF and CHS

1.3.1 does get rid of the error, but it doesn't load the shader correctly at all. For me, 1.3.1 is comparable to regular post (extreme graininess returns). Except it's actually worse because the land in the distance turns solid white. I apologize in advance for the steam screenshots which are alrea...

Thanks for reporting. Anyway, seems it was a bug on the windows version. I don't know why graphics should render differently on windows, but they must have. Anyway, it's fixed now, just redownload :)

Re: Chartre's "Chader Pack": Improved SSAO, DOF and CHS

Doesn't seem like you added v1.3 to the OP. Fixed, sorry about that! Stupidity on my part. I also reformatted them quite a bit because I thought it would be silly for users to have to move to the last page for updates. How can they be loaded? If I swap post.frag out, it seems to crash my game on tr...

It's the post_smalltank shader, for comparing DOFs
You wouldn't likely want to play the whole game in it though because the field is so shallow

Chartre's "Chader Pack" v1.3

This new version brings a darker, more realistic SSAO effect and adds the closest bokeh approximation I could get in an afternoon without needing a bokeh image file or a R9 295X2. Full Changelist: -Updated SSAO to remove distant noisey artifacts -Made SSAO more obvious (thank akazi for the reccomend...

Chartre's "Chader Pack": Improved SSAO, DOF and CHS

Hello! I made some improvements upon Overgrowth's lighting and post effects. These edits do not result in major performance loss, and may actually result in slight performance gains for some people compared to the originals. (although Depth of Field is pretty draining) The changes are discussed in m...

That's the exact opposite of what should happen. Graphics cards are usually at maximum power when you first unbox them, and then they degrade afterwards.

Yeah I get this too. I think it must be an optimisation problem or OS rot. It also doesn't change at all with any change in graphics settings for me.

Re: My NEW review: The future is AWESOME

Yeah, the combat needs some balancing seeing as right now most of my friends will end up winning battles by smashing attack whenever they can and not even bothering with parries or dodges. I don't think the combat needs to be made easier, but the relation of skill to winning needs to be stronger. Th...
