Rolling back to RC2, deploying from a different computer is not a good idea I'll make a proper fix tomorrow.

Windows 8 doesn't seem to have proper OpenGL drivers yet. You may be able to find a workaround by using the Windows 7 or Vista drivers, or at least that's the impression I get by briefly searching for "Windows 8 OpenGL".

This happens because at normal speed the simulation is running at 120 hz, and in slow-motion, the simulation only has to run at 12 hz (because time is passing 10% as fast).
