To be fair, Weed isn't illegal in all parts of the US. Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, and Washington have completely legalized it, while a full 23 other stats allow it for medical use. And he may not live in the US, so there's a good chance he isn't breaking the law.Endoperez wrote:

Also, breaking the law is bad, regardless of how weed makes you feel. Make sure to check up on how your local laws might hurt you, & whether your family, job, dream job/career etc accept it.

Re: randomness
I've tried weed once... Laughing 5 min straight like a school girl feeling dizzy and seeing rainbows everywhere! Fun and probably never do it again.

True. I guess I should've phrased it as "Regardless of how weed makes you feel, it it's breaking the law, it's bad".Dammasta wrote:To be fair, Weed isn't illegal in all parts of the US. I agree with you there. I also do not smoke, but I've often wondered how the experience feels. I will probably try it sometime in the future just to see what it's like.Endoperez wrote:True. If you like it, don't let it effect your work productivity.

Can someone with more experience with old games tell me how to survive the original X-COM.
Currently getting assfucked on literally every front.

Do not move during the first turn. Wait one turn doing nothing. The aliens start with full AP on first turn only, or something.Phoenixwarrior141 wrote:Can someone with more experience with old games tell me how to survive the original X-COM.

Do not walk down the metal gangway. Each step there is many action points & visibility is bad. Step outside one grid, so you hear the first metallic sound, then step off to the side, over nothing. They basically jump down.
Mind controlled characters don't reload. Useful with rockets. Especially during the first turn/s when a rocket might kill everyone.
Move in groups.
Use grenades liberally. Destroy walls, fields, roofs, floors, anything. Lasers and later plasma can be used to destroy obstacles too.
Good start is key.
Getting promising rookies helps a lot. Buy a ton, try to figure our the best, scrap the rest. Good willpower is important, later good psi if you want to bother testing all of them.
UFO doors are the worst. If the roof is broken & enemies numerous, lobbing in some grenades is worth considering.
Sell all the crap in the black market. Corpses, alien food, alien entertainment, etc. Elerium, alloys, one of each corpse & some UFO construction parts are only useful ones.
Default base structure is bad for invasions. Consider restructuring it for less surprises. Keep extra equipment in base.
Night missions are super annoying, bring enough flares.
Grenades can be picked up. Timers of carried grenades do not change iirc. Rookies with a primed grenades are chryssald-proof in an explosive way.

Yet, somehow, I'm still heavily interested in Overgrowth modding.

Re: randomness
There's a multiplayer mod now. Do we need anything else?
I'm waiting on Overgrowth until it's stabilized and maybe there's some more move-sets for the Rabbits.
Y'know what this thread needs? Cheshyre.
