I made an 8 second animation of a cannon for in 3dsMax for my college class. It would have been much better but I'm not very devoted, and 3dsMax crashed about 100 times. So, most of the work I did I lost and some of the work I did do I didn't even use like varied terrain and the original project was actually going to be a roller coaster.
You can find it here -->http://www.geocities.com/ichernobyl/
So most of that was done in a frantic hurry a couple hours before the last day of class ended. Some noticeable things I could have fixed is the grass(it moves instead of staying stationary), and the trajectory of he missile is not realistic. The sky is just a background, so I could have made a better sky. The models are all pretty simple too. The explosions could be better but they're still fun to watch. Keep in mind, those last few frantic hours included multiple renderings.
I have some other models but I never rendered them. I don't think they are in any way engaging.
It's still pretty pathetic compared to ridestowe's stuff. Especially considering that I will be starting my third year of college and he's still in high school. I was doing different stuff though. The college makes you take traditional art and Cadd and Drafting classes, and I changed majors from electronics technology. I have a certificate in PC repair though.
In high school I learned some programming. I made a cheesy maze game with quickbasic and learned some c++ and visual basic(I hate visual basic but it was a lot easier to make simple programs with).

Did you read it? From the web page: "This video is encoded with divx 5.2.1..."
Divx doesn't ship with windows, therefore, to watch divx someone does have to download a codec. I could encode it in mpeg1 though, but it would probably be much larger. I think geocities gives me like 10 mb of bandwidth a month.
vlc and ffdshow play tons of codecs too, so they're generally good things for everyone to have, not to mention vlc plays dvds.
