Re: Portal 2
Since then, me and two of my friends, Martin and Adam, got into playing Penumbra together really late at night while particularly drunk after sessions...it became a ritual of ours. We'd have a session in Adam's house and then when everyone else had gone home or gone to bed at around 4 o clock in the morning, we'd VGA his laptop to the TV and all take turns having the shit scared out of us, and helping each other with the puzzles. I found out I'm particularly adept at solving FPS game puzzles because of this...
But... but...
Seriously though, I'm glad you like Penumbra.
Amnesia is basically more of that but improved and refined and precisely 4.6 times as scary. Go buy it.

I apply the same logic to not playing games which purely scare the shit out of me and don't provide any rewarding emotions. Basically, for me, playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent would be a bit like punching myself in the face repeatedly..

I'm as much convinced about that as you are, but in this case, Sony agreed to the cross-platform multiplayer, and as such were not subjects to my little rant.Renegade_Turner wrote:If you think Microsoft is money-grubbing and Sony isn't you're delusional...
In other news, I got a text that said that a package (Portal 2) has been delivered to the Swedish national mail service (Posten, for whomever cares). That basically means that I could possibly get ahold of the game by tomorrow evening (Saturday), which is way earlier than I had imagined.

Re: Portal 2
So you might actually get it faster than those who ordered it through steam
Countdown page thingy.
It seems this shit is getting organized.
I don't know how exactly how they're coordinating it, probably Twitter or something, but large numbers of people are playing each game in turn in order to fulfill the "computation requirements".
One is already done and a second well on the way.
Coo.

Re: Portal 2
They have to be played through Steam to be counted, that's how they know.
Re: Portal 2
Ah, but why would they need to? Or do you mean telling people about it?

But Microsoft make the Windows PC and the XBox 360, which would be linked to each other...I don't get it. How could they only want people to have it on the XBox 360 platform?Freshbite wrote:I'm as much convinced about that as you are, but in this case, Sony agreed to the cross-platform multiplayer, and as such were not subjects to my little rant.

As long as someones playing a game that isn't already "completed" that counts.
It's too bad steam's detection system isn't like Xfire's ... its extremely easy to trick Xfire into thinking youre playing a game
Edit: (now hatching a brilliant plan )
Re: Portal 2
preorder on amazon and get $5 off, and $20 off your next purchase.
Re: Portal 2
Really? They allow cross platform between PC and 360?Renegade_Turner wrote:But Microsoft make the Windows PC and the XBox 360, which would be linked to each other...I don't get it. How could they only want people to have it on the XBox 360 platform?
Well then, I guess it's just the Sony - Microsoft thingy that is SO not supported.

Re: Portal 2
The only game that takes advantage of the whole Windows - Xbox 360 thing right now, that I know of, is Lost Planet: Colonies.
Re: Portal 2
Yeah, they aren't really promoting it that much.

It requires a certain number of people to be playing each game simultaneously in turn.
Random people playing random games on the list won't cut it.
EDIT: Actually, further investigation suggests I might be wrong about this.
