It was just a matter of time: Phosphor is a 3D-shooter that's played in your browser via your Shockwave-Plugin.
It works under Firefox. The newest version of the Shockwave-Player-Plugin is installed automatically for you, a reboot is required in Windows operating systems.

Have fun :)

I played a little bit of that, quite a bit of fun. I can see a lot of people getting into trouble at work because of this game :).

I tried this at school, but I only get like 1/2 frames per second.

If you're into browser fps's, check out http://necromanthus.com/main.html. Most of the games are in beta and don't have much content, but check it out.

For some reason I really sucked at that game. For two whole games I had absolutly no kills while the computer continously began to kick my ass every time I met them. Then finally I started to use the sniper rifle to kill them (without zooming in) and it worked out pretty well.

This game just runs too slowly and has a-ton of bugs in it, but still, it is a shooter in a browser. that alone makes this game pretty cool. A funny aiming system, no reloading, lots of places to fall through the game, and really late bullets. When this game becomes more complete I think it would get extremely popular to more people, it's something to look forward to.

I checked out Necromantis and it was pretty cool they had games like warcraft (broken) and deus ex (incomplete and broken), these games were pretty awesome though and had some nice touches with graphics and of course, FPS browser capabilities. And hey what's this? They use the tea-pot as an example to render their games. That's exactly like David (hey, great minds do think alike). This site was pretty awesome, but I think it tried too many things at once, maybe it should have focused on just one of those games so that people could have some real fun instead.

Gah, that game uses up so much RAM!

It said on my G15 keyboard that it was using up 95%-99% of a gig, when Half Life 2 uses about 60%-80% by itself. Might just be Firefox taking up all my RAM and the game as well, but still...

Should be Shockwave which is sucking up the RAM.
