You shouldn't trust Lang's movie preferences. You can count the amount of film's he's seen on one hand.

Maybe even one finger if you count like a Komato.

I think you will find that it is two hands, not one. You simply detest my film opinions because i never watched toy story.

The Book Of Eli was simply good, nothing special. I like post-apocalyptic stories. Mmmmmmad Max.

The Hurt Locker is not everyone's cup of tea, my girlfriend said it was boring and called me pretentious for liking it, saying I was only saying it was good because critics said it was good. It seems that before the Oscars it won, everyone thought it was great, then it won Oscars, and everyone called it overrated. Anyway...

Shutter Island is simply brilliant. Lately I love Leonardo DiCaprio, which is ironic since I used to find him rather annoying for teenage sensation roles in Titanic and The Beach where he just stood around looking pretty. His performances in Revolutionary Road, Shutter Island, The Departed and Blood Diamond are considerably more gritty and dishevelled.

Leon (The Professional) was waaaaaay fucking chill.

as was Shutter Island, i came.

I need to see Shutter Island.

The beginning is lost on most people, especially the whole moon landing sequence. It's a film from a time when it was customary to drag scenes out.
I love the film for its implications. And its crazily wide-angled shots. And the extremely convincing fake spaceship model shots. And HAL.

Have you seen Enemy Mine? It's also really good.

And Solaris and Stalker are also really good. Tarkovskij always managed to blow my mind with his settings, his characterizations and his subtile tension. Also, the colors in his films do something for me.
And he doesn't need speech to communicate stuff. He's got that down to a science.

And Pi is also really good in terms of theme and pacing. There's some nonsense in the math, but it's just a fun scifi setting to watch someone get destroyed in.

Godfather starts good in the first, gets better in the second and drops in the third. The whole series is good overall.

The rest is alright. This was just a random picking.

Edit: C'est arrivé près de chez vous is also really amusing if you can get beyond how gruesome it is. Most people I know can't watch it to the end and dismiss it as being too fucked up to be enjoyed; I think it's just a smart film with a great realization of an abstract what-if scenario that spells doom and misery from the get-go. And it's got some of the greatest black humour I've ever seen.

I never really liked the Godfather movies. I don't know, I guess I'm weird like that. Al Pacino never really did anything for me I guess. Except for the new assisted suicide role he's doing. That movie looks interesting.

I looked at the summary from IMDB on Pi, the first two things that popped out at me were "orthodox Jew" and " predict the behavior of the stock market"

I like Enemy Mine and The Terminator movies, but 2001 was just too drawn out and boring. It could have been ten minutes if they had cut out all of the parts where absolutely nothing happens. HAL was cool and the music was good, but I don't care about monkeys sitting around scratching their butts or 15 minutes of that psychedelic tunnel thing on Jupiter.
