nerodx wrote:I watched The Truman Show for the first time recently as well, can't believe it took me so long to watch it. It was great but I don't know how to describe it. The basic premise is that the main character is on a giant reality show with his life being manipulated the entire time, and he is finally figuring it out. If that sounds interesting at all you should watch it because my description does not give its awesomeness justice.
Talking about Donnie Darko is almost boring to me at this stage, having seen it right when it came out and falling in love with it as an angsty 11-year-old, so I've excluded that bit of your post.

The Truman Show is brillaint. In fact, Jim Carrey is brilliant. The Mask, Dumb And Dumber, Liar Liar, Man On The Moon, The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. We can all forget about The Cable Guy, that was just a rare moment of bad judgement.

I respect Jim Carrey all the more because he doesn't cash in on ridiculous sequels, except in the case of Ace Ventura, but come on, let's face it, he had to come back for another Ace Ventura. He was born to play that character.

He declined to be in a sequel of Dumb And Dumber, and Evan Almighty had what's-his-name from Anchorman and The Office.

Jim Carrey 4 Pope.

Jim Carrey is an absolutely amazing actor, if you get a good script and director, he can make fantastic decisions which often affect the whole shape of the film itself, still, enough of my pointless gushing over this amazing man...

I watched Babylon A.D. last night, it reminded me in a lot of ways of Children of Men, which is a fantastic film, and I would recommend it to all who read this post, very dark film though. Anyway, where was I?... Oh right yeah, Babylon A.D. great film, great acting, great story, some Bad-ass free-runners, a pretty hot girl pulling a pretty cool trick (don't wanna spoil the story for those who haven't seen it) and Vin Diesel (Who automatically makes any film awesome just by being in it). Summary, pretty damn good film, and some pretty interesting plot twists, go see :)

Oh my, can't believe I forgot this, but Lords Of Dogtown. Especially watch it if you've ever had any interest in skateboarding.

Just finished watching Hackers. It was meh. It didn't really go into the "hacker culture," it was more of a "look at what cool visual effects we can do" thing, with a very bad plot.

Anyone who likes poker or Matt Damon: "Rounders".

Anyone who doesn't like poker or Matt Damon: still "Rounders".

I watched Snatch for the first time today.
It was nothing but great, all the way through.

Forget Richard from LFG, Brick Top is my new idol.

Your last idol was a character from a WoW spin-off? Respect for you is not only rock bottom, but has gone into negative and out the other side.

That response was predictable, so here's my predictably logical riposte to it: not caring won't make you not a loser.

Thanks for stating something that is already o-so obvious.
You know, you really contribute to this forum. I like that.

EDIT: On a significantly less off-topic note, I'll see Guy's other film called Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels tomorrow evening, I'll let you guys know what I thought about it.

Why the hell would an undead, genocidal maniac with parental issues be your idol? That's the kind of thing you want to avoid turning into, sir.
