Talking about Donnie Darko is almost boring to me at this stage, having seen it right when it came out and falling in love with it as an angsty 11-year-old, so I've excluded that bit of your post.nerodx wrote:I watched The Truman Show for the first time recently as well, can't believe it took me so long to watch it. It was great but I don't know how to describe it. The basic premise is that the main character is on a giant reality show with his life being manipulated the entire time, and he is finally figuring it out. If that sounds interesting at all you should watch it because my description does not give its awesomeness justice.
The Truman Show is brillaint. In fact, Jim Carrey is brilliant. The Mask, Dumb And Dumber, Liar Liar, Man On The Moon, The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. We can all forget about The Cable Guy, that was just a rare moment of bad judgement.
I respect Jim Carrey all the more because he doesn't cash in on ridiculous sequels, except in the case of Ace Ventura, but come on, let's face it, he had to come back for another Ace Ventura. He was born to play that character.
He declined to be in a sequel of Dumb And Dumber, and Evan Almighty had what's-his-name from Anchorman and The Office.
Jim Carrey 4 Pope.
