Nice, you got that game on opening night? Sweet.

I know the demo wasn't particularily exciting, but that's because they didn't show any of the cool features. All these new things like crowd effects, weapon modifications, and the notoriety system is sure to bring alot more fun to that series.

I don't, despite loving FF7. I think the game would be poor. I'm loving Shadow Of The Colossus, though, which I am currently playing. I'm on the sand guy, the 10th colossus. I know how to beat him, I just gave it a few tries. Was cruising one time when I had him down to about a twentieth of his life and then I got killed because Agro ran into a wall while I wasn't looking.

Also, has anyone noticed the rate at which new forum members are joining is increasing lately? This can be seen by the counter back at the main forum page. In the last week, I keep checking, and I keep thinking "Hey, that's gone up a good bit."

Square-Enix's locaization and development devision in the states has changed the game not only by translation but by control sceam and gameplay mechanics as well. I will have to play the game to judge if it's going to suck or not.

I beat the whole game 8 months ago.

Funny how in PC game demos they never give you the levels with the cool stuff in it. They expect you to take their word for it.

(hint, hint Lugaru 2 devs)

This goes for the first page concerning RTS games.

I think the main problem with these games had to do with multi-tasking and resource managment. While games like Homeworld were great because you only had to deal with 3 builder units, everything else could be focused on fun things like strategies and combat (still, resource management was pretty lousy, it always is when you get a limited supply of resources. And once you deplete your money, that's it, salvage what you can off of destroyed capital ships, but you basically have to throw in the towel.)

So now, it seems like new RTS games have completely thrown out that idea. While there are games like Age of Empires and Command and Conquer, that let you create your own resources, it seems like you don't have to worry about anything now. New games such as Rush for Berlin gives you starting cash and then a slow constant flow after that (you don't get resource collecters). Company of Heroes pays you by which territories you control. Starwars: Empire at war completely seperates all resource management and strategy apart from the combat aspects of the game. I think these are going to be played much different than what we're used to. For one, they're focused way more on action than on resources.

Oh and two new games that have TBA dates. Starwars 3 and the new Indiana Jones, the new physics looks amazing.

Yeah, apparently that Indiana Jones game is using physics based animation to the core. Cool stuff like enemies rolling down hills trying to grab something to stop their fall, and then grabbing a friend's heel, sending them both falling down to their deaths. Good stuff. Good to know a good idea is catching on.

What do you mean by Star Wars 3? Which Star Wars game?

Ah right, the new Starwars game does not have an actual title yet. The only thing they got is a new tech demo showing off their new features. Mainly "digital molecular matter" and that new environmental awareness AI system (which is apparently crap compared to Lugaru 2, yay!). They did things like throwing a bunch of stormtroopers onto a beam, some would grab on and eventually it would splinter and snap apart as the wieght increased.

Gamespot's editors really ate this up, techdemos for the press would really get Lugaru 2 rolling come launch time. Man, I don't know how they'd react to technology from this game, it could be a spectacular smash hit in minutes!

The next game is Indiana Jones, they are both made by Lucas Arts so it seems like they share the exact same engine. This will be like the first game other than Lugaru to use Ragdoll fights (good Ragdoll fights. Oh yeah, that game called Saints Row, it's going to use this too).

Also, has anyone else heard the news of there possibly being a Star Wars : Knights Of The Old Republic 3? That would be the best decision LucasArts could possible make. Those games were unreal, and extremely successful, so why not continue the series? Who else likes these games? How could you not like HK-47?
I heart KotOR
