Oh, there is another generalization ... you just generalized that all countries have the same culture. cultural borders =/= country borders

Ah, yea ...
when all else fails just be a dick ... I should have expected that.
What i meant to say was one culture per country not every country has the same culture.
either way both statements are wrong.
Things like this kinda piss me off ... I apologize about what I said earlier and you be a dick to me.
Why do i engage with these people?
Edit: Yea, fuck this forum ... I Think I might take a leave for a while.

Im back ... I guess that was a pretty short leave

... for some reason ragdoll's post made me both somewhat upset and just plain tired. That kind of tired where you have debated with someone for a week on something and the debate starts to turn into verbal insults rather than actual points.
Renegade_Turner wrote:Your rambling puzzles me. Are you arguing against me or Ragdollmaster or yourself? It's hard to decipher.
both really ... sometimes I don't tend to choose one specific side or another ... When you point out your own short comings it helps keep the conversation a little less heated ... well ... most the time.
People tend to turn conversations about subjects into debates about subjects when things get a bit heated and that's doesn't really solve anything.
Basically when I got verbally assaulted for lumping all the countries of Europe together in a casual statement, I started thinking about why I did that even though before I typed that I knew damn well not ALL the countries of europe have tons of riots and the conclusion I came to was people like to simplify, catagorize, and generalize.
So I posted about that and apologized reluctantly due to embarrassment and hurt pride after insulting me and basically my entire country.
Then he kinda railed me with a hostile post and I just haven't felt more trolled in my life ...

I feel like I should apologise even though it was Ragdollmaster being annoying. The fact he tried to pick at your grammar when you clearly generally have a good grasp of it is a bit puzzling, particularly since it was something that you'd obviously have changed if you took a second look at it.
I wasn't trying to have a personal attack on you, or your country as far as I can remember...are you from Canada? Besides, Canada is generally awesome, just the actions of these Vancouver supporters was particularly bizarre. Also, it wasn't as if I was saying "Oh, people here are the only people to ever incite violence for a stupidly futile cause." I was just particularly enraged that people would fuck shit up in a city like Vancouver, which is apparently quite cool.
Did I insult America directly? i'm not sure I recall doing that, and I'm not so inclined as to go check if I did.

nah you shouldn't have to apologize ...
I probably was just being overly sensitive ... especially since I
am posting on the internet
I am an American and I can't help but consider it an insult sometimes when people say "America is full of idiots" or "Americans are arrogant". How could you not take it a bit personally if I said bad things about the people of your country? I would be talking about your friends, your family, and basically most of everyone you know.
And that's why I apologized, I realized that what I said was probably offensive to some people. I lumped the idiotic behavior of some soccer hooligans that is probably sparsely scattered in some countries to the entire continent of Europe. That's probably insulting for a few people.
