Absinth is disgusting. Hahaha. I had a corked bottle of the stuff from Prague before, it's the vilest tasting shit you'll ever taste in terms of alcohol.

grain alcohol in general is just YUCK! i don't like gin either, it's just so minty.

That's because grain alcohol is so damn high in terms of proof that it's practically the same thing as ethanol ... you know ... the alternative fuel they use for fuel in cars.
Really the only difference between ethanol and grain alcohol is that they put poisonous stuff in ethanol so people don't drink it (not that the grain alcohol is practically poison in itself )

Yeah, I'm not a monstrous drinker either, but that depends. If I've had a great dinner, and start up slow, hell I could drink for twelve hours straight and still feel pretty decent when I wake up.
