Re: David Belle
He's not the most stylish I've seen...but he's definitely one of the most ballsy.

Re: David Belle
This was before Parkour became more finessed, but it's true, his style has always been more matter-of-fact and explosive. And ballsy.
Re: David Belle
The only two things I took away from that were that I have no skills and fuck stairs.

Re: David Belle
He kind of just makes you feel like all your training has amounted to nothing, doesn't he?
Re: David Belle
Yeah, you can say that again. Although it is also a little inspiring, but its still crushing.

Re: David Belle
It's certainly helpful. If I ever need help on a technique, I look at a David Belle video. He started inventing Parkour when he was my age, and it started with him playing around with his friends, so perhaps there is hope for me. But not for you old farts

I agree ... why use stairs when you can use an elevator!Renegade_Turner wrote:This.Korban3 wrote:The only two things I took away from that were that I have no skills and fuck stairs.
I like that parkour is somewhat stylish, but to say it actually has practical use in every day situations is a bit of a stretch.
(unless you're trying to impress girls ... that could be considered an every day situation

Re: David Belle
Hm...well you might be mixing it up with Freerunning a bit there... Parkour's only purpose is to be useful. It is used to train soldiers and firefighters. If a building was on fire, or you were running from something, or you needed to get to someplace high, it would help you do that. It's not necessarily something where once you learn it you just do it all the time (although why not, fuck stairs). Also, the philosophy of overcoming obstacles is as much mental as physical. It's a lot deeper than most people think.

That's why I love it.

Nah I get the joke, it just doesn't fit here. It's like:
