Ahh crap wrong link
it was actually this one, my bad.

Hey that's cool, moderators have the ability to see where someone is posting from. Hmm, funny that. Then you must know that Zantalos is actually a name that mulitple people use as a sign in!

Jokes! That's not really true, I only sometimes post real small comments at my friends house. Never mind that, they're usually answers to obvious questions.

Blorx is (was?) much like my... um. I don't know the english word for it.
Someone in familyl
Lexikon (app) says second cousin.
...my second cousin, who one day decided (boom!) that we were going to make games and get rich. He told me to get Maya and learn 3D modeling,
and also texturing, while he was going to do the coding.
I think he said we should do some viking game or something..

While we (maybe I) am/are on the topic of programming,
it can't hurt to mention that I have shyly started learning some C.
I don't really know if it's a good language to start with, but I think it is
because it seems much like english and is easy understandable (at least on the low level I am on now).

Offtopic deluxe

huh? I can't make sense of this very well.

Blorx is your second cousin and you were going to mak a viking game with him? If that's right then, booyah! I can totally understand people now.

<2 minutes later> Ok, I'm following the '....' and it makes so much more sense now, I get it. Blorx is like your second cousin who thought he could just be some Game Developer and make crap loads of money.
What a bunch of jokesters, hey who believes Blorxs had what it takes to create Black Shades: the enemy? I think he's getting ahead of himself, but I have no idea. Blackshades is too advanced to be able to easily copy.

C is a really 'old school' language. It is extremely low level, sort of like a pretty version of assembly.

I'd say go for Java instead. Eclipse, the IDE you should use, is second to none. It is very impressive. You can grab it at eclipse.org.

REALbasic is a good choice as well. It has all the features of modern languages and has the bonus of built in classes for virtually anything you might need, from an HTML renderer to an email class.

I forget if you're a Mac user, but if so, Objective-C / Cocoa is good, although pretty difficult compared to Java and RB.

Finally, C++ is another good choice. Like Objective-C, it's backwards compatible to C, but it has extensions that make it object-oriented. Again, I would steer you towards Java or RB instead though. REALbasic, especially.

Nooooo, Java is a bitch! No, wait, bitch is a good thing. I like dogs.
Java is being ass! Don't use java! Java hates me, and I hate java!

Thanks for the advice, Jeff :D
I'll check out REALBasic.

(And yes, I am a Mac user.)

Java (I think the runtime thing that lets you see java things in your browser) has totally screwed up on me. I hate java.

You're probably thinking of Firefox's crappy Java integration. Java itself can't be blamed for that.

No, that was safari... And explorer, and firefox.
I think it has something to do with the way it's installed on my computer, and it's damned hard to get it off the internet again.

Eh, my friend's giving me her Tiger install discs, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Wootles, eh?

I have nothing but respect for apple, but I can't afford a new OS.
I'D appreciate someone wanting my software enough to steal it.
