Ah, Battlefield 3.
This is all I can think of when I hear about that game now:

If I ever end up with a PS3, I will get Battlefield 3 JUST to do everything in birgirpall's 'Operations' videos. It looks like so much frikkin' fun. The trolling is just phenomenal. It's like that game was built for it.

The lack of Earthbound on this thread makes me sad

I've actually never played Earthbound. I never had a Nintendo system older than the 64, so I've never had an Earthbound game.

Just play it man.
EVERYONE who has some time to spend playing videogames, should play Earthbound and all those All time Classics SNES gems.

Oh shit, also:
For Flight Sims, go give Black Prophecy a try. It's freakin' awesome.
It's a space shooter in which you're given a basic ship and are able to customize it rather well by purchasing new parts like wings (Why are these even... it's a space game.) which you mount your guns on, better engines, weapons and such. The flying and combat is pretty fun, and it has a first person view with a nice looking cockpit and such. I haven't spent a massive amount of time in it, but I had been hoping for a while to get a different cockpit to get a different shape, but I believe the game is still in development, but I'm not 100% sure.
Still give it a try, it really is just a blast. The graphics are also stunningly awesome for a game that is free to play. Like, "Whoa, where the hell have space shooters this good-looking been?" good and has a slightly overkill character customization for a game in which you never see your character

The best RPGs are The Witcher and Mass Effect series. In my opinion, Skyrim is a soulless game.
The best multiplayer game ever is Joint operations: Typhoon rising. There will never exist a MP game who will top that.
The best of all times Adventure shooter would be none of the GTA series. It would be the first Mafia game.
The best brainless fun I had was with Just Cause 2.
The best fighting game made 'till now is Lugaru (2D fighting games are stupidity, in my opinion).
Well, that's what I think.

Sooo... The Mass Effect 3 demo was slightly disappointing on the single player front "1-2 hours" of game play turned out to be about 45 minutes for me and there were virtually no conversation options. Admittedly they did have to take most of them out in order to keep the demo under the 2Gb mark but still, disappointing. The MP however is very, very fun, just requires a few tweaks to make it just about perfect. I just hope they didn't cut down on the single player content just to have a good MP.

Browsing through your list there, this is where people are going to start hating me... Never liked Zelda. Ever. Also never played a Metroid game in my life. Now that's out of the way, I can't even begin to tell you how much I hated F.E.A.R. Played the first one, was so damn terrible in so many ways, not least the control scheme being awkward as hell, coupled with severely wonky AI made for an abysmal show which I never found myself caring about, couldn't bring myself to get much past the... Third? Mission. Maybe the later ones redeemed it but I'm not holding out any hope.

yeah most people either love or completely loath zelda games and I hadn't played a metroid game until like 3 years ago. As for the fear part, I meant to put fear 2 but was really tired at the time (haven't played fear 1 or 3 but 2 was awesome.
