Wow. For how long did you play? Was it on a private, or retail server?

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. I played on a mid-rate server aswell, called FaithRO, for about a year and a half. I was one of the most well-known (and feared
) Super Novice in the server by the end.
Those were good times ...

Do any of you guys play Toribash? That is an excellent game.

I have. Never drunk though. It's one of those games that you either instantly fall in love with and play til' you get extremely good at it and then tire of after a month or so, or you never get the hang of it and hate its guts after a couple of hours. I, for one, did not fucking get it.

Yeah, I can see that. I started it yesterday, and I'm in the honeymoon phase.

I played till I was kind of good then quit. I hate games that require you to buy in game content, but as far as I can remember it was just for looks, so I still played it.

Yeah the extras are merely cosmetic.

I remember Toribash, many years ago I gave it a shot on my ultra crappy PC, which ran it at a terrible framerate, which if I remember correctly, should be impossible. But that was the flavour of my old PC... I'm off to download it again.

Toribash was good... never played it much though, to much other things to do. (read: other games to be played)

Courage is not fearlessness, but the mastery of those fears and the ability to overcome them.

One thing that happens to me is it will only run on the first install, so I have to redownload it every time I want to play. It's a small file though, so not too bad.

For a while there I kept setting up wolfire games with lotus wolf on toribash and I got rather good, we had quite a bit of fun messing around with mods and such, but I quit playing when I had to update, and I also got irritated that I got bored of winning and started losing intentionally and nobody would believe it, also being accused of hacking because of having good ping was a little bit irritating.

Just so you guys know. I had a blast mowing people down at point blank range with a machine gun.
Me and another guy was in the prone position in a bed looking at the doorway. We had taken a house and closed all the doors in the house.
We could hear them opening doors to search the house. The anticipation was killing us. Then they stopped searching and we could hear occasional rifle fire in the other room. (someone was sniping from the house)
So I was talking with my fellow bed occupier over team chat (not over mic) talking about what to do. So we decide that maybe we can bait them into opening the door (because they did a shitty job of sweeping the house, they probably think it's clean anyways). The room we were in has a nice window facing to the west in which you could pick people off from.
So I publicly type "yea I'm also approaching the house from the west" followed by a ":3" in team chat. The guy in the room plays along and starts bitching at me over public chat for being a n00b and not using team chat while sending basic smiles of anticipation/understanding through team chat.
Sure enough, that allied soldier walks in and sees two German dudes in a bed with machine guns pointed right at him and gets
instantly mowed down.
Laughed really hard, then closed all the doors in the house, moved to another room and did it again.
