Anyone swim competitively here?
I did for a year, but my coach wasn't the nicest guy and practices were too long and hard. He's trained all the teams for the past 15 years to be state champs so it was very rigorous and time-consuming. I literally had no life outside of swimming for six months, and I don't like that.
Anyways, at the very last meet I think I got how to really push myself, and I got some times which I'm proud of... which I'm sure I'll never be able to repeat.
They were a 1:00.35 on my 100 Freestyle and a 2:17.00 on my 200 Free, as well as a 30.24 on a 50 Free split on the 200 IM relay. Unfortunately, my coach wanted us to win the competition so he didn't sign me up for any real events (these were just the fillers so the real swimmers could get ready), and he didn't sign me up for much else other than that.
Any Swimmers Here?
how old are you. those times seem pretty damned good depending on your age. I don't quite get how your 50 free time is 30.24 yet for a 100 free your time is 1:00.35. Normally the time for a 100 is more than twice the time for a 50 (and splits tend to be faster than non-splits)
@Jeff: No that doesn't count

I haven't swam (other than recreation and random workouts while lifeguarding) in almost 3 years now. The times i remember as my personal bests are 27.5 for the 50free, 1:00(about, i just remember being happy getting "double 0") for the 100 free, and 2:14 for the 200 free.
I was never the best swimmer on my team, barely made JV by the end of my senior year.
