Dark Souls for PC!

Post by Janekkubek » Sun Jan 29, 2012 7:19 am

Hi, this is my first post here. I became Preorderer two days ago, already have downloaded SUM and now downloading Menu Mod. So I am fresh here. As it is Random and all-stuff forum, i'd like to announce, that Dark Souls is great game. And it is in a few ways similar to Overgrowth. Although, it is finished

"Dark Souls is a critically acclaimed game, developed by From Software, known for its high level of difficulty and innovative online features."

Goal of Dark Souls is to survive exhausetingly difficult fights with bosses and immerse to deep, dark atmosphere of Game's world. So, it has been developed for PS3 and Xbox360 now. Pc is out of elite. But there is still hope for us. Petition has been started few weeks ago. It gathers signatures of gamers, who'd like to play DS on PC. It has already been signed by over 83 000 people by now. So, lets do it! Help other not-so-mainstream ( ) developer make best decision of their buisness-time. Persuade them to give us one of best games created on new-gen-consoles!

Saw a topic about this on Data Realms about a month ago, and everyone pretty much concluded the same thing: for this to work, it would require a LOT of signatures. It needs to be profitable for the developer to have any interest in it. Porting the game now would take a considerable amount of money.

I've heard it's hard, but it can't be... THAT hard, right?
You know, Ninja Gaiden kind of hard?

I haven't played Ninja Gaiden. But I've played Dark Souls on X360 and I was not capable of HURTING casual skeleton, who was hiding behind shield. He stabbed my hero twice, and killed him. It was before I found about Overgrowth. I can't compare this two, both, OG and DS are freaking difficult. And, as you said, "Ragdollmaster":

Define "a LOT" and substract 10 from this number  Because i hope that at least 10 signatures will be recieved from SPF users. That's how it rolls. I agree that porting finished game (with "console" code-structure) is enormous effort. But, wasn't Gears of War written for X360? I have to admit, that we got pretty awesome port for PCs

Foolish post based on laziness.

This is about Dark Souls, not Overgrowth... FromSoftware is old, established, and I can't imagine it having just 4 developers.

Pumped. There's just a few games I may have to buy within the next year. I will list them now in an attempt to derail this sum-bitch.
+ Sniper Elite V2
Oh, yes. Just... Yes.
+ Dark Souls (PC, if it is happening [Gawd, please yes])
+Dead Space 3 (This one is happening, right? I'd heard it was.)
This better be just as god-damn good as the first two.
+I'm sure there's a few indie titles I'm looking at but can't remember as well.

You forgot about a whole lot. Among them, "The Last Guardian".

Ooh, yes. Completely forgot that one. I hope the ending isn't sad, but we all know. One way or another, it'll make me cry.

Hm...
I heard that Naughty Dog might be doing a fourth Jak and Daxter, and if I had a PS3 I would go buy the HD trilogy collection and the new one if it makes it for PS3 as well. Those were freakin' awesome games. As it stands, I'm on the edge of getting an emulator and finding ROMS for the first two, but that's a bit edgier for me since they are definitely not abandonware yet and I respect Naughty Dog.
I have a hard time pirating from companies I respect, even older games. Call me a dick for pirating other games, I don't care, but I have at least a few morals about it. That's why I have yet to play Rage or DOOM 3, the Portal games, Half-Life 2 Ep2 or Lugaru (Except the demo) or why, when I get a DOOM craving, I go and get a completely custom wad and a port rather than pirate the original DOOM wad from somewhere. I could always search for my lost copy of The Ultimate DOOM, but it's long gone now and I dang near cry myself to sleep when I think about having lost it.
Just can't bring myself to steal from id, Valve or Wolfire, among other companies and teams.
Especially Wolfire, though.
