Yeah, unless David implement N64 mode, then no. Someone got it running Quake 3 on ArchLinux though.
BUT.
If David does add N64 mode and a Linux build, feel free to play OG on a Raspberry Pi.

It will never play OG. It uses an ARM processor, and has no dedicated GPU. OG would crush it into a fine powder.

My point exactly.

whats the point of it exactly?

The main purpose of the developers was to provide kids with a cheap, accessible computer to program on.
Well, if David was silly enough to go changing a lot of features removing the advanced ones, lowering the model detail and used a bit of texture reduce, then it might run. It runs Quake 3, so why not ultra-dumbed down OG? But it won't because hat'd be a waste of OG development time and won't happen any time soon.

Something tells me one of you guys will be doing this some time...

What, making ultra low detail OG after the Linux port so that it runs on Rasberry Pi? Intriguing idea, but I don't want to. Do we all need a refresher on how dedicated I am to my mod projects? Anyone?

Nope. Please.

Because OG has a CPU bottleneck. And RP barely runs Q3. And I like Acronyms.

Ah, but it someone who was stupidly dedicated/had no life wanted to, they really could go in and tear OG apart, making it Raspberry Pi-able. It would be interesting, if a little bit silly.

I'm going to go ahead and say not even close. OG needs the CPU for all of the cool pathfinding, collision detection, and other cool integral pieces of OG. It's SERIOUSLY CPU based, and though I'm assuming there'll be some cleaning up with it, it will still have trouble running even on a core 2 duo.

What do you people not get about "tear it apart"?
Take a ton of the CPU heavy stuff out.
Ragdolls? Nix em. Replace that part with an animation for laying down.
Blood decals and particles? Remove ALL of them.
Drippy blood texel awesomeness? Remove the use of those effects.
IK Effects? Remove them.
Like I said, only someone who has no life would want to go in and make that many changes to the game's scripts.

Sorry to break it to you, but there have been different derivatives of Linux that have done that. And they where free.
Back onto subject! I would love to have one of the RasPi boards. I would actually love having a half dozen of them. I've always wanted to learn how to do Beowulf clusters and that would be a great way to start.

A Beowulf cluster? Sounds cool, not that I actually know what it is. I wish I could order one now, but it seems that the US distributor still does not have any. I'm gonna start a riot soon. That'll solve things, right guys?
