Zalo proved that it is, but only across a local area network. If you get two computers in the same house/street/neighborhood though, it should be plenty fun. It would be way too hard to do proper online play because screen sharing basically transfers the screen of an application, like Cortex Command, to another computer; so the host opens up CC and then opens up screen sharing / remote desktop for Windows, and submits the screen to another computer. Kind of like a live video feed. The player on the second computer can input their own commands, too. It would be far too laggy to transmit the whole screen online, though.Zhukov wrote:TheBigCheese wrote:Also, is there multiplayer in any way?
Although I hear that it is possible to use screen sharing to attain something resembling online
Here's the thread if you're interested; Lol a link.
The game is a little laborious at first, quite a steep learning curve, but the good news is that learning curve is relatively small. After you get used to moving around... er... there really isn't anything else to learn XD I would recommend using a Coalition soldier with some kind of heavy weapon, like the Gatling Gun, Rocket Launcher, or Heavy Sniper Rifle, for example.
Also, mods help. It's fun being an MPAM and just squashing the fuck out of tiny infantry troops while destroying a base. Here's a list of some of the more recognized faction mods;
AAL (linked to the word MPAM)
Universal Technologies (UniTec)
DarkStorm Military Technologies
Kloveska Military Force
Crobotech V2
DSTech Corporation
Diemos Federation
Pelian Army
HPOM (Huge Pack Of Mods)
AAL focuses on the power of machines with its Marine Exoskeleton human soldiers and heavy attackers like the AAL Hover Tank and the MPAM giant robot.
UniTec is a large assortment of different soldiers, weapons, and technologies from across the universe.
DarkStorm specializes in mercenaries who perform base infiltration and protection.
Kloveska is just a normal military organization. With a fairly large robot.
Crobotech is one of the oldest mods and widely considered one of the original best as it introduced a lot of new coding and scripting done by the author. Still fun to play.
DSTech Corporation is an intentionally overpowered* collection of robots and weapons.
Diemos Federation is from the same author of DSTech Corp and is a more balanced military org.
Pelian Army is another balanced military organization. With yet another fairly large robot.
And the HPOM is just a crapton of random ideas done by one modder that weren't really good enough to earn their places as separate mods.
And now to stay on topic, a picture.
