ok, I understood all of that except this part "??zÜ"

Hm, I don't see any "??".
I made those characters by pressing alt-shift-s and alt-shift-a.

Pressing option-shift-s gets this: Í
Pressing option-shift-a gets this: Å

Using the fn key to change option into alt gets:
Pressing fn-option-shift-s gets this: Í
Pressing fn-option-shift-a gets this: Å

Are you sure that's what you put in there?

You get ? with option-w
You get ? with option-shift-v

And when I post it it comes out as "?". Problem solved.
