Colicedus wrote: Look, I aint seen his work or nothing... but answer this, have you?
Couldn't watch much; saw enough to know it was crap.
then he wrote: Second, who cares about that loop hole...
I agree; he's not stealing anything from you this way. I think he steals time and money from viewers, tho, with his crappy movies, which he makes not for the love of movies or games but for the love of money.
next he wrote: Third, if you don't like his films, fair enough, but if you are going to throw personal attacks at a guy...
He's an arrogant asshole, you know. And he's an arrogant asshole about his crappy films. He's the one who brings himself into the argument. He knows that being an arrogant asshole will get him more negative publicity, which will allow him to attract more investors in his crappy tax scam.
and then he wrote:...because of what he has created, I command you to make your owen film twice as better than his...
By this criteria, no one can comment on anything unless they've done better themselves. You don't have to be a gourmet chef to know crap when it's served to you. No one stops you from giving your opinion on games, but you've never made any, have you?
and finally he wrote:How would you like it if some one came along and picked to peaces your work that you spent a bit of money and time to make?
Ya kinda open yourself up to it when you create "art" for public consumption. And don't think for a moment that Dr. UB is losing his own money and giving away his time; he uses investors' money like all directors, and makes a hell of a pile of dough through tax breaks for himself and them on every crappy movie he makes.

And where does he get his ideas? He takes ready-made topics and stories from popular games, taps into a ready-made market of gamers, and then feeds them worthless crap instead of what he promised. And he degrades games and gamers by doing it.

We need to expose him for what he is: a cunning business man who cares nothing for movies or video games.
Stuart Wood at www.cinemablend.com wrote: German investors in a movie only pay tax on any RETURNS the movie makes, their investment is 100% deductible, so the minute the movie makes a profit, said investor has to start paying tax.

Plus the investors can actually borrow money to put towards investment and write that off too. Assuming you’re a sharp enough businessman you have a potential goldmine in the making; a way to make money from investing in bad movies...

Enter a German by the name of Dr. Uwe Boll. (Pronounced “Ooo-vay Bowl” in case you’ve ever lain alone at night and wondered. I know I have.)
Another quote from Stuart Wood, who wrote:
Dr. Uwe Boll said, not wrote: My movie House of the Dead made a lot of money worldwide because it's based on the video game, because everyone wanted to see the zombie movie based on the game.
House of the Dead cost $22,000,000 including marketing costs. It’s worldwide gross was $13,818,181. That’s a LOSS of $9,000,000 by my calculator. Alone in the Dark cost approx $32,000,000 including marketing costs. To date its worldwide gross is $6,040,827. That is an even more impressive LOSS of $26,000,000. Simple case of misunderstanding, I guess what Uwe meant was “My tax-break movie made ME a lot of money because it tanked.”
I agree that critics can be like eunuchs at an orgy: they know what to do and how to do it, but they can't do it themselves. But they can also warn you off crap, and UB movies are crap, and gamers should be insulted and angry at the shameful (and crappy) way he uses them them to create valuable tax write-offs for his crappy self and his crappy wealthy investors.

Also, another source to find out more about Uwe Ball is check out Episode 5 of Best Damn Podcast Ever. Just do a search in iTunes, when you have it downloaded (it's free) use the Chapter Selection and go to Hollywood Jank Bonanza.

Okay, I'm not even going to reply to any of all these points because I stopped caring about this pretty much right after I posted it. Sorry about that guys.

The main reason I pretty much posted this was to see how much abuse I got for backing up Uwe Boll. I didn't get any abuse, actually. Uwe Boll got abuse in 90% of the replies though. I haven't seen any of his movies actually, so I dunno. How good of a movie CAN you expect from House Of The Dead though? I'd say abou 90% of action films have not much plot whatsoever and are primarily about seeing people kill stuff or blow stuff up or avoid being killed or blown up.

Oh and also, thanks Jeff for noticing and yes I have been away for a while. I just kind of got bored of it. I've been doing school work a lot of the time and don't really come online much anymore except for MSN. Thanks for the welcome back anyway.

If I was offered a hundred billion euros, I would...nevermind.

But uhh, I don't think David would sell Lugaru, because it is the game that has put him on him on the map as a respected developer. I think it means too much to him, but I don't know him either so I can't say.

I really don't think Uwe Boll is going to want to make a movie of Lugaru anyway. He probably doesn't know what it is.

Yah, he needs a ready-made fan-base of millions, not a few thousand.
