Lurkers please read.

Post by Grayswandir » Wed Dec 18, 2013 3:12 am

I don't care if you're a lurker and you don't wanna. Post here once so I'm less suspicious of you when I'm online and looking for spam accounts so I don't accidentally axe your account out of existence. At the very least put something like "I'm a certified lurker" in your signature. We're having enough issues with tons of new accounts being made with strange names.

As OG was just released on Steam, there will likely be a massive surge of legit new users with strange names soon enough, so you might not be able to control the issue by just looking for large portions of strange accounts.

True fax, that. And besides, as much as I like the idea of this identify-yourself-as-human thread, I very much doubt it'll have any sort of effect. A lot of true lurkers like the ones you're trying to lure out will probably not even know what the term 'lurker' means, or might only be lurking the wolfire forums or whatnot.

Its not like I'm going to go banning accounts with 0 posts wholesale. Just trying to make it easier on myself. If they post, they post, if they don't, they don't. Its mostly for my own ease of mind than anything.

You shouldn't boot anyone if not for a proper reason.
If you're not 100% sure, you should leave the user be.

If they are advertisers, they will eventually come forth. Axe'em then.

I promise im not a bot.

I can prove it because I filled out the randomized letter box when I made my account.

Prove it again by posting a picture of yourself with a backdrop of these forums whilst you have a banana on your head.

Or just come up with a human, witty response to this.
Yeah, that'll do.

Oh shit!

Silliness aside, shouldn't anyone with a Pre-Order Tag be safe anyway?

NO.

I mean, maybe.
Yeah, okay.
You're off the hook this time, pill-swindler >:V

Say, Gray, this thread is actually working a lot better than I expected. Neat stuff.

I'm kinda shocked that some lurkers actually responded to this thread.
