Fun and fear combined with physics
David spoke of it recently over at mode7games' blog, now there's a game about to come out that handles physics and player-world-interaction in a slightly more interesting way than you should be expecting.
The game is called Penumbra. You can grab the demo here.
There was a tech demo of Penumbra before, but it's not at the level of what this new demo promises. So even if you're remembering the tech demo, be sure to check this out, it's way better than the previous stuff.
The game uses Newton Game Dynamics, by the way.
As for myself, I am stunned, especially considering the graphical presentation and the intuitive control interface for interacting with things in the world. I think I'll buy the full game once it comes out. This approach needs support. (The developers are relatively new, they haven't shipped a single title yet)
What do you guys think?

I think stuff like this is the reason I need a WhineDOS-compatible computer.rudel_ic wrote:What do you guys think?

Well, I'm happy I recently updated to a GeForce 6600 something. Lets me at least run those newer games with PS2, deferred shading, global illumination and what not. FPS could be better though. I'm somewhere between 10 and 25. Must be related to my underclocked 2.0Ghz CPU. Underclocked because of a crappy cooler. Or it's my 512 MB RAM, who knows.
