Halo is living proof that a game doesn't have to be completely original to be good. Alot of games nowerdays are trying to be as different as possible. (look at the Wii!) Halo is just a FPS, nothing special, that is what makes it so good. Halo 2 added some stuff which kinda got rid of the original idea.

Haven't played it, but I've seen it being played: Tribes doesn't count?

Tribes? What does that have to do with Tremulous?

Was talking about the "free games which require strategy" theme.

Ah. Anyone who's a fan of free and/or open source FPSes should take a look at Tremulous.

Seems interesting. It's a Quake 3 mod? Strange that I haven't heard of it, then. I've heard of most.

Yeah, it also comes in a standalone version which came out more recently.

Now… Back to halo? I don't wanna hijack this thread.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with splitting a thread from a split thread. :P

Hell, it's the Randomness board, who gives a crap?

i feel like posting a random video that proves that Halo is either great or bad...i dunno...it's just a funny Halo fan video a friend of mine and a bunch of other people did online while they were bored...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=19KoKVkTNF0

And IMO both Halos and all 3 Marathon games rock...just I agree with the needing a sidestep key in Marathon, how could you forget something like that??

Also, I prefer Doom over Quake :P
