I heard somewhere that on the wolf level near the end of the original game, there are some wolf cubs. True or false?

What exactly do you mean by "Cosmetically"?

They ARE wolf cubs; there isn't very much else to say about it. And they are just as willing to kill you as the adults - yes. But they are much, much easier to kill (especially if you keep the sword: slice -> dead).

Anyway we appear to have gone in a massive circle as this brings me back to the original question:

Why is killing adults more acceptable than killing children?
