Personal favorite post-FF7 game: Legend of Dragoon...great game...funny too...

Yeah I played Earthbound. It was alright for a while but then I got a bit bored. It was funny and witty though. I liked the innocence of it.

I still love FF7 no matter what games copied it.

FPS games try to copy the AI of the marines from the original Half Life game, but none of them can. That does not take away from Half Life. it is the definitive FPS game in my view.

It wasn't that other games copied Half-Life...it was that Half-Life so utterly dominated all other FPS games that nobody played any other ones. System Shock 2? Nobody played it. They were too busy playing Half-Life. Hell, I can play Half-Life right now and have a good time. Not too many games have that kind of lasting appeal.

Now FEAR - that game has some nuts AI.

As far as RPGs go - I don't know, Final Fantasy 7 has lost most of its appeal for me. It's probably the combat system - it's just too boring and straightforward for me now. I can still enjoy it at times. There are far better RPGs out now, though - It has been 10 years since FF7 came out. Rogue Galaxy comes readily to mind.

And Square Enix has shown us that they can slap Final Fantasy 7 onto anything and it'll sell like crazy. Look at Dirge of Cerberus. A mediocre third-person shooter. But it has Vincent Valentine in it, so people buy it.

Is HL available for OSx?
