Just wondering who (if anyone) has seen this and what people think. In particular I'm interested in feedback from the Americans amoung you as this is your government that this talks about specifically, but all thoughts and input are welcome.
And if possible I'd like to avoid devolution into blatent flaming and trolling though I know that topics like the ones the movie brings up (especially the 911 theory) can get folk quite upset.
Please take the time to ensure your post is going to be an honest opinion and not just slagging off someone elses.
Personally I agree with most of what the movie shows and will do until I see counter-evidence. Nothing I have seen from any other sources has been solid and I would gladly examine any evidence put forward by those with differing views.

I have been warned not to watch that crap. Hearing the first half of his pathetic attempt at a lecture in the first few minutes, after the uselessly long intro, was all I could stand.
I haven't actually watched this as my bandwidth is precious at the moment, so forgive me if I'm completely wrong. Every single 9/11 conspiracy theory I have seen is ridiculous. It's just like those IDIOTS who claim we don't have to pay income tax. Um, it says in the constitution that congress can levy taxes. I don't know who this video was blaming, but let me tell you this. There isn't some crazy conspiracy involving the U.S. government.
I tend not to go for conspiracy theories. The logical explanation for 9/11 is that terrorists hijacked planes and rammed them into two large buildings. It would take some serious leaps of logic to come up with any other explanation. I mean, they have footage of one of the damn planes running into the building. Captured live. I know because I was watching the news the morning it happened. I'll never forget that day...

Re:
I think it's an interesting piece of documentary. It does have its flaws (e.g. some of the information is not properly sourced, some of the citations from books don't contain page numbers) but I think a lot of the information in there is shocking. Some of the stuff that was pieced together was literally upsetting.
Of course there'll always be people like Ultimatum479 (below) who will just outright deny deny deny and never consider anything which differs from their viewpoint. Anything different is wrong and unjust and BAD and EVIL. The norm is the best, the status quo must remain.
God forbid (lol irony) that anyone should think outside the box.

Interesting movie, though I really didn't see what the big stink was about it o.0
The first part gives an interesting standpoint on religion and christianity in general, and shows you alot of neat lil things that match up with alot of other things throughout the years. Not really anything that I found offensive, and.. I don't see why people would be uncomfortable about it, unless they already have thier own doubts in the back of thier minds.
Then it moves on to the whole 'world being controlled by one group' thing. Again, interesting, and they do point out alot of pretty common knowledge stuff in history, though from a different angle. Sprinkle in a little conspiracy and creepy music, and.. there you go.
The finale' being the 9/11 thing. Alright.. I can kinda see how this would mess with peoples' minds.
It pretty much goes into detail with the consipracy theories dealing with the government, and the world being a stage for the goverments amusement. Talks about the wierd way the towers collapsed, and all the strange little things that happened during that time that alot of folks might not have heard of. I thought it was pretty neat, though the audio clip they played of the dude that was trapped in the building as it fell was.. a little bit much.
Overall.. a decent watch for the curious. Just remember to keep an open mind when you do ^^

Re: Zeitgeist The Movie
So I went to the site and clicked around and could not find out what the movie is about. I am intrigued and now I am asking more people and spreading the message.
It sounds like it's a 9/11 conspiracy theory. Hasn't that been debunked yet?

Re: Zeitgeist The Movie
Oh yeah Jeff, I pretty much thought the whole 9/11 thing was bullshit. It's all circumstantial. It's based on very weak sources, and very much anecdotal evidence, e.g. the victims of the 9/11 disaster talking to reporters. Anyone in such a state of panic and shock would react in a fashion in which they think they say or heard things they didn't. That's how the mind works: panic makes you paranoid and delusional.
That's a very good source for disproving the whole 9/11 thing.
I thought I had posted my own link to a web page that picked apart the whole "Part III - Don't Mind The Men Behind The Curtain" bit, but I didn't apparently. Here it is:

I was kinda just more interested in finding out other people's opinions since this is the only forum I'm a part of and therefore the only opinions I can find that're not affected by the person's relationship with me, i.e. since none of you are in a personal relationship with me and are detached personally.
With people who I know or people who've already seen the film when I ask them and have had time for it to sit in their minds, their opinions are already made and aren't an impression anymore. Opinions can mutate over time and subsequently become corrupted. I wanted a fresh opinion, i.e. someone's opinion who had just seen the documentaries.
I think the part of the films I was talking about when I said "upsetting" were the bits about religions. However, although I still don't believe in any organised religion, I've found even these claims to be false. I point to the parallel made between Horus, the Sun God of ancient Egypt, and Jesus Christ, the prophet and saviour of the Pauline Christian religion. It was claimed in the religion that Horus was born of a virgin in a cave on the 25th of December under the Eastern star and was reverred by 3 star powers, which seems shockingly similar to Jesus Christ. However, upon research I find that Horus's birth date was actually during the Winter solstice (for obvious metaphorical significance), which is typically the 21st of December, although it varies between the 20th-22nd.
This slight deviation from what is shown in the documentary, which lays down in black-and-white that both Jesus and Horus were born on the 25th of December to a virgin, already has me doubting the foundations of the whole documentary.

Direct quote from this page:
"Birth date [of Horus]: Ancient Egyptians paraded a manger and child representing Horus through the streets at the time of the winter solstice (typically DEC-21)."
And all of this considering I don't believe in any organised religion. I would be the easiest of anyone to persuade that his views about religion are true, that they are all a sham meant to mentally enslave people. However, I find the claims falling predictably short upon proper inspection.
Even in saying that, the first part of the documentary is shockingly (and upsettingly) convincing, and I'm alarmed at how many people have been sucked into this whole thing. The people who were involved in this documentary may even have the best intentions, and a lot of the film has a sense of good intention at its forefront. However, this does not...what's the word...it doesn't...EXCUSE robbing people of their free will by manipulating their minds with some sort of mental bombardment.
This documentary talks about mental slavery which religion apparently subjects people to, but in reality it is becoming a martyr of its own principles. The documentary sets out to do one thing and does the opposite. It hopes to free people and in doing so prisons them inside paranoid delusions and psycho-babble which is never backed up. Such paranoid delusions are scary. They're dangerous. And I mean REALLY dangerous, I don't mean the subtle kind of dangerous like, the danger of your child smoking weed with their friends. I mean this kind of mind manipulation, whether deliberate or not (I'm sure the maker of the film doesn't intend it to be deliberate), could provoke some person to do something dangerous that could harm someone. It only takes one unstable and impressionable mind to affect, and disaster ensues.
Now, I have been partially drunk in writing some of this, but I think (or it seems at this moment in time) that I'm making plenty of sense. Someone tell me if what I'm saying is complete bullshit. I might wake up in the morning and find someone idiotic I said and go "What the **** was I ON?"

The James Randi Education Foundation (JREF), which offers 1.1 million USD "to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event."
I know I'm not going to get that 1.1 million.
