The cake was not a lie.

You just never found it.

And now all the cake is gone.

This is your fault.

no, you're right, it actually is more of a cult
a lot of famous people are scientologists
it is *kind of* a religion but it's known as a cult because no country has officially accepted it as a religion

There's a difference between Scientology itself, which can be described as a movement, and the Church of Scientology. But although the Church of Scientology seems to be a religion because of the word church, it is in fact a trademark of an organization.
Scientology itself is a movement with religious characteristics, but also characteristics of a cult. Whether or not Scientology is a religion is debatable, but in my country, it's not a religion as defined by our law, and the same goes for the UK.

I think it is considered a religion in the US, though I'm not sure.

I consider Scientology to be a mindfuck; that doesn't make it non-religious, of course. But I consider it to be a non-religious mindfuck because I define religion based on cultural tradition. So, a religion needs some historical background that's bigger than a failed science fiction writer in the 50s.

Edit: Besides, they claim to be an empirical science. Not THAT religious in my book.

One day I will win the lottery and spend loads of it on getting some scientists and some priests working together to find out how god can logically exist.

The tension would be a problem, but if they did it, that would be the greatest thing ever.

Spoiler: It is impossible to either prove or disprove that god exists.

that's the thing about it. People are always trying to prove or disprove it. I'm a strong believer and don't try to prove it. It's the faith that counts. As they say in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Truth denies faith, and without faith [He] is nothing.

I can't be certain, but I think he deliberately put clues of evolution in this world, simply to provoke those theories. He wants us to make the choice, not be be MADE to think what He wants. We are given free will in whether to believe in him or not...

sry for being preachy. :/

Oh, so he's just trying to trick us into not believing in him so we'll go to hell? What a nice god.
