I think it's actually yay or nay. "Aye" is like...a word of affirmation used by Scottish people.

Fair point. But he originally typed "I" so it was the closest match I had.

Plus I think (and you may correct me if I'm wrong) but the house of lords still uses aye as an agreement. But it might be yay. I'm confused now :(

I'm not that well endowed with knowledge of the House Of Lords, although I probably should be since I'm doing Law in Ireland and it comes up a lot. There's a lot of House Of Lords cases that I have to memorise actually because of judicial precedent. I could find out, but I'm not really bothered. I know a lot of Scottish people, and a lot of them say "Aye".

Scottish say aye?! The idiots don't even know their own language! It's 'och'! Anyway...

A word of affirmation used in many places - most English-speaking government meetings, for example - is 'aye'. But they generally do things by ballot rather than aural voting, so it's really a moot point.

"Och"? No they don't. What is this madness?

"Aye" as in "I" but with a Scottish accent is what I mean.

You can trust me on this. I believe I would know a bit more about it...being from Ireland and all...and having Scottish cousins.
