Oh my god the ending to Black Ops was amazing!

Nah, I'm kidding with ya, I just wanted to say that, the story was terrible actually. Anywhoodles, on other news, I love the endings to both of the Gears games, especially Gears 2, when your all like, "Yeah we killed the Locust!" then you hear Adam Fenix at the end and he's all like "What have you done?!" "Then we're like, we killed the Locust! Oh wait, your supposed to be dead...... Did we make a booboo?!"

Probably the worst game ending I've ever had to witness was Kane and Lynch 2...

Skip to 1:48 and you will see the games final boss and the escape sequence... then... the credits... >:l

Portal 2 must have one of the best endings ever! :D
..And the funny thing was, half way through the game I thought "Wouldn't it be cool if you could [what you do in the end]?" and then it actually happens :P

portal 2 was pretty rad. Batman Arkham Asylum was a pretty fun game, but the ending, and end was was a huge let down.

That leaves it open for a number 3, so they can make more money.

Surely the worst ending in the existence of video games is KOTOR 2, for how purely cheap it was considering how much the game promised...GIVE US KOTOR 3 DAMN YOU.

How did KOTOR2 end?

(I don't mind spoilers, I'm never going to play it.)

I'm currently playing through KOTOR1 for the first time. It's a bloody chore and no mistake.

I'm not going to tell you. I'd advise you to go play KOTOR2, it's possibly the best RPG I've ever played.

If it's set in the Star Wars universe, I have no interest in it.

*goes to look up KOTOR2 ending*

Halo 2. Brilliant game through and through. Ending was a blatant cliffhanger that was, in my opinion, poorly executed. I don't know if I'd call it one of the "worst" endings, but it definitely didn't leave me hankering for Halo 3.

On the flipside, 2 games with well-executed cliffhanger endings: God Of War 2 and inFamous. The former has you charging up the side of Mt. Olympus, leading the Titans against the Olympians, and gives you the feeling that you're going to miss something big and epic if you don't get GoW3. inFamous isn't quite as much of a cliffhanger, as it resolves almost all of the conflicts raised in that game, but it makes it clear that there will be a certain future conflict for our buddy Cole, and hence, that there will be a sequel. Those both left me excited for the next title in the series.

@Zhukov: It seems really narrow-minded and frankly stupid to dismiss a game just because it's based on a certain universe :| KOTOR 2 was quite an awesome game, and in fact, it's what made me go watch the Star Wars movies.

Huh?

Oh I'm sorry, is there a rule that I must like Star Wars?

Was it in the small print at the bottom of the forum sign-up page?

No, but dismissing a game without playing it because it's based on Star Wars is stupid. Hence you're a dumb-dumb.

Why?

I just don't like the setting. I cringe every time someone mention "the force". The alien designs make me laugh. I think lightsabers are silly.

If someone didn't like racing games, would you call them dumb if they said they weren't interested in the latest Need for Speed or Gran Turismo?

Well first of all, that's a genre, and I'm pretty sure you like roleplaying games. If you can't look at the story of Knights Of The Old Republic without looking past the bit to do with the force then there's something severely lacking within you in terms of appreciation of stories. It's set in the Star Wars universe, but it is nevertheless a great story.
