What Does Your Taskbar Look Like?

Post by Constance » Fri Jul 15, 2016 4:18 pm

It's always interesting to see what other people's taskbars look like.

Photoshop is the one black sheep, because setting the icon for it doesn't work.

This is mine! Nothing special, but tells you what programs I use all the time.

I actually completely forgot a somewhat important thing: the calculator icon on my taskbar is Overgrowth and the gear icon is Task Manager. I couldn't find Token equivalents, so I compensated. Maybe one day I'll make a Token Icon for Overgrowth myself.

Does Opera have basic browser functionalities back by now?

I really tried to hang on to it after it became that unusable version of Chrome, but it was just impossible. It turned from the browser with the coolest customization to the one with the least.
I mean, even Edge had more customization when it came out than this and Edge still doesn't have extensions for most users. How can discontinue a browser and replace with one that doesn't even support bookmarks?!

Opera does have some great customization. It also has bookmarks. It's probably my favorite web browser to use.

Just fired it up again. To see. It still seems t be nothing ore than a bare bones version of Chrome at first glance.
Customisable mouse gestures also don't seem to be back. So the customisation boils down to extensions?

Yeah, I guess I'll just give up on it then.

EDIT: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I just did some more snooping and found an old project I had discovered after initially giving up on Chropera. Vivaldi!
It's essentially a modern version of good old Opera. All the customisation from back in the day. The settings menu is insane compared to the ones other browsers have. And it's fully compatible with Chrome extensions on top of that. I would have never found it without your post giving me that kick Never switched to a new browser that quickly. Let's see how it holds up over the next few weeks.

Oh my god, seriously? I'm gonna have to take a look at that. The main reason I've been using Opera over Chrome is because the way bookmarks are held seems a lot more hidden on Chrome... :?

I'll check that out. I've been using Firefox.
I assume Opera has uBlock or Adblock?

By the way, to Chrome & Firefox users, get rid of Adblock and get uBlock: way more CPU efficient.
