SPORE
SPORE
A couple of weeks ago, i saw billions of advertisments and stuff on tv and online that SPORE was supposed to be bigger than the Sims, But truly, i think they tried too hard.
Does anybody have/know anybody who has this game?

Re: SPORE
I have this game. Creature stages and space stages I had a lot of fun with, the others not so much.
Re: SPORE
I liked the very first stage where you are a cell. The rest were boring.
Re: SPORE
I thought the cell stage was really fun, and the creature stage was kind of fun, and the rest were really bland.
Re: SPORE
lol it dudnt sound like its really fun. i was thinking bout gettin it
Re: SPORE
I bought it at a store and put the disc in and installed it, and after it finished I tried to run it and it said the file was corrupted. So I tried reinstalling, and was faced with a big dialogue box saying, "You do not have an authorized copy of Spore," and then it quit. I messed around with my firewall settings for a long time to allow the DRM malware to phone home properly, and only then would it let me start the game.
That experience did not leave a great first impression.

Re: SPORE
Not if you have a mac, firefox AND Little Snitch.
Although if you get the virus through firefox, LS probably won't help since firefox would probably have full internet access without notifications.

Re: SPORE
Thats why you get antivirus. Viruses aren't as dangerous (well, the common ones anyway) as they're cracked up to be, so it's normally easy to delete them before they do any damage.
Plus it's harder to get a virus than you think anyway. The only reason I've got a virus is because I was gullible and downloaded something I shouldn't have.
Never google keygens.

And yeah, most people I know who've got spore have commented on the lack of replayability for some reason (sounds illogical with such options, neh?), but I really can't say for myself 'cos I have no frikkin idea. x3
Re: SPORE
yeaaaa i think ill pass on gettin this game
Re: SPORE
This is definitely one of its biggest failures. Most games with deep character customization have many small, permanent choices. For example, in Diablo you start out choosing a class, and then when you level up you can choose which stat to upgrade and which skills to learn. Then once you beat the game it is fun to try out different classes, or even different paths of the same class. High replayability! Spore is like that except none of the changes are permanent: you can change anything at anytime. You can have a slug monster whose offspring is a bumblebee raptor or a brontosaurus. Since you can change anything at any time, you can see nothing new by playing again. Low replayability!Glabbit wrote:[And yeah, most people I know who've got spore have commented on the lack of replayability for some reason (sounds illogical with such options, neh?), but I really can't say for myself 'cos I have no frikkin idea. x3
Re: SPORE
FWIW, Spore has a nearly 1 star rating on Amazon out of over 3,000 reviews. Save your money.
