Hello*.
I've been following Overgrowth development for quite a while, and now that the Alpha has reached the 101 version, I have decided to preorder it.
I have owned a copy of Lugaru for quite a while now, but I only now decided to register on the forums.
Now I guess I'll go back to lurking in the shadows.

*Creative introductions? What are those?

Well, I just preordered overgrowth, as the work done on the project so far looks amazing, and I thought the team definitely deserved a contribution.

The team has also inspired me to get back into developing games as a hobby. I stopped way back when I was 11 and my TI-83 Plus died (that was really where I got my only programming experience up until I was 17, as the family never really had a computer). So far, I've been learning SDL, OpenGL, OpenAL, and C++ at about the same time, and have almost completed a clone of pong (After I get everything to where I want it, I might post a video on youtube).

I am also anxiously awaiting the current alpha build to download...

Welcome!

You should read the script files in Overgrowth/Data/Scripts - some of them are more intimidating than others, but you can learn a lot from them. Some of the files don't seem to be used any more, but it's easier to understand e.g. the movement logic by reading ascharmovement.as, than the mammoth aschar.as that logic has now been moved into.

I wouldn't know the first thing about programming to be honest with you guys, I'm really just here for the atmosphere! Although, I may try some programming once I've finished my A-levels...

Haven't said hello yet, so here goes.

My name is Marcus (kind of obvious) and I preordered a week ago or so.
I am a Linux-user, which is why I first of all wanted to support this game, because of it's upcoming Linux client, and because it really looks amazing so far!
Anyways, I have been doing programming for quite a few years now, but never done anything serious with it. I started out with Visual Basic 6 on my old Windows PC, from there I went to Delphi, and now I'm mainly using C++/Python.
I have been messing with C++ and SDL for a little while now, and it's really fun.

Happy to be here.

It seems nice

Nothing better than upgrading things, isn't it?

have a PS3, but I tend to only buy PS3 exclusives for it.

Dear azion,

Your services are no longer necessary. We're going to have to let you go.

Sincerely,
The Management
