Is Obama really that good, or was Bush so terrible that we're just amazed how Obama can make it through an entire speach without making an ass of himself.

i've gotta defend bush here
everyone seems to forget
the first four years went pretty well
then he got f***ed over when he was re-elected and congressional majority changed
so yeah, the past 4 years have been hell, but it wasn't entirely bush's fault

and as people are saying, obama's the first non-white to be president. he could very well be our savior, or he could very well be the antichrist. we'll just have to wait and see.

6. Be polite. Do not post anything defiling: e.g., swears, insults, ethnic slurs, etc.
Keep in mind that there are children here.

#6 on the forums rules.

That hurt.

well
i'm not the only one that has done it
and really
i'm just tired as hell
and sick of people trying to be funny by interrupting intellectual stuff
i get enough of that at school...don't need it here
it's just annoying to have to work around your repeating that
especially when people try to ignore it
=P

Um. Yay?

Back on what you said, yeah I think we can't be too hard on Bush. I mean sure he's the reason for a lot of the terrible things that have happened during his term. But it would have probably ended the same way even if Gore or Kerry got elected. Only thing that I think he actually could've done better on was the Katrina thing.

yeah
everyone's saying he should've pulled the troops out of Iraq...well..we can't
Katrina definitely could have been handled better...seeing as most of it was handled by 3rd party groups...
but yeah...i really don't think Bush was terrible

Being in the middle of Louisiana, I can agree with that statement.

Bush illegally sent us into a nightmarish war, ruined our economy, destroyed our international relationships, messed up our educational system, held back important stem cell research, eliminated many of our basic constitutional rights, fumbled every crisis he was faced with, widened the gap between the rich and the poor, destroyed our ethical credibility by promoting torture, and made us a global laughingstock. This is why he has the highest disapproval rating of any president in the history of the United States.
