HELP!

Post by Lotus Wolf » Fri Nov 07, 2008 8:11 pm

help me guys! my computer is running really slow, it appears to be using up virtual memory like a nothing i've ever seen, and i've been forced to return to using my other computer (which isn't all that great). I've tried scanning for viruses with Avast! and it doesn't come up with anything. blender, lugaru, toribash, and even windows explorer have great difficulty running. im also getting a "Attention! some dangerous viruses detected in WINDOWS, click here to download antispyware!" messages whenever i try to do anything. if anyone has any ideas or can offer help (maybe) i would greatly appreciate it.

I would recommend just doing a clean reinstall, and being more careful about what you download!

I just heard that Windows checks for updates automatically and won't let you shut down the computer until it's finished updating, which it starts as soon as you try and shut down when it detects uninstalled updates.

we had a problem sort of like that, our pc was running slower than normal (if thats even possible  )and then after a few days we got the dreaded blue screen and it said something like "your computer has been invaded by a trojan horse, the virus will take effect in 10etc."then the pc crashed and wouldnt turn on for ages, then after a week or so it turned back on but we got loads of pop-ups saying "[annoyingly happy]win-fixer has saved your pc-click here to download win fixer ABSOLUTELY FREE!![/anoyingly happy]" im just like WTF YE RIGHT.

moral=your pc may have that same problem...or of course...its just plain buggered
