Zeno Clash came out Tuesday! I had already preordered it when it was 50% off and beat the game except for the achievements and challenges. It was definitely worth it. The combat, somewhat confusing story and world is all amazing.

You should check it out : http://blogs.aceteam.cl/zenoclash/index ... owentry=29
If you're not sure, they are probably going to release a demo, but I'm not sure when.

Zeno Clash has an interesting storyline, and the graphics look great. I wish I could see a complete video playthrough of the first few levels, though, so that I can see what the gameplay is like.

Here's a youtube vid some random nutjob screen captured: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA0uTRHyGh8
It has solid gameplay, I think. If not, I'm sure you can find a good one in the related vids.

The settings, concepts and aesthetics of this game look refreshingly interesting. It's all so very bizarre, and just... tasty.

However, I am a little ambivalent about the use of 1st person 'melee' fighting.
On the one hand it gives a sense of immediacy that is often lacking in the third person perspective. In first person, when an opponent takes a swing at you, they are doing it at you and not at a guy on your screen.
On the other hand, a 1st person view that does not account for peripheral vision always feels rather claustrophobic. Furthermore, it can separate the player from the surrounding environment. I have always thought that third person was better at 'anchoring' the player character in the environment and conveying the sense of the player character having physical presence.

But I digress.

If the chance arises I shall certainly be checking this game out.

Yes, I have some of the same thoughts. That's why I'm hoping for a demo to check it out first. But it does look like my kind of game :)

kind of reminds me of the tribal version of mirror's edge (minus parkour), but that's just me.

Do you know if they plan on making it compatible for mac? That would be great, it looks like a cool game.

I don't think it will be coming out for Mac. It's based on the Source engine, and thus is tethered by DirectX. You might to be able to emulate a windows environment to play it, though you have to download it through steam.

In other words, get Crossover Games, get Steam and it will work 100% guaranteed based on past COG-Steam experiences

What an original but still slightly depressing way of putting it!
