A double-neck acoustic. They just cost way too much to custom order.
Any suggestions on woods I should use and such?

my brother's going to a guitar making school, and despite that I can offer no advice, I'd think pine, but you should probably just look it up.

Eh pine's not anywhere near acceptable lol. You can't buy pine parts. General woods used are spruce, mahogany, maple and koa. there are others, but they escape me atm.

Wolfire forum is probably the wrong place to ask about the craft of guitar-making.

Yeah, I was going to go with Koa but it can reach upwards of $400 for the amount I'm going to need. >.>
Either way, if I can get the Koa, I would. Stuff sounds great.

If it's going to cost like 500-600 to make the guitar yourself, how much would actually buying the full thing yourself be? 2000 or something? What ridiculous prices.

It'll cost me about $800 max to make, granted I don't break anything. It'll cost me around $3000-4000 or possibly even $5000 to buy a double-neck (6/6) Acoustic guitar, because they have to be custom made.Renegade_Turner wrote:If it's going to cost like 500-600 to make the guitar yourself, how much would actually buying the full thing yourself be? 2000 or something? Try this, get a job earn some money and buy the guitar.Nothing beats the original.Or you could rob a bank.

Blorx is 16(?) it'll be much cheaper for him to make the guitar himself. I saved enough money to buy a fender, and bought one, however the idiots at UPS managed to break it when sending it, so I got a refund and haven't ordered another.

No way dude. Not $4000.
Re: So...I'm gonna try and make a...
How can you even say that? There's nothing more original than a guitar you made YOURSELF.Devilsclub wrote:Nothing beats the original.
