Skating was my life for maybe 6 years. I used to win competitions now and then. I still buy DC shoes.

Don't worry, I was only joking. It doesn't matter what the body can do, just the mind.

Lol that's funny, last Sunday I was at a session because we'd been out celebrating the end of our exams, and there was this guy that kept taking the piss out of everyone, and the main thing he could get for me was 1. My hair because it's long, and 2. my DC shoes which apparently meant I was a skater, despite never having skated in my life. XD

I mean, I get the whole thing that they're skate shoes, but just because I like the style of shoe doesn't mean I'm a skater. I just like DC!

I was also wearing really skinny black jeans, but that doesn't mean I'm, I dunno, "emo" or something.

Lol I agree with you lotus, well kinda. I don't really hate sports, I watch them from time to time and playing is fun as long as its with friends who are doing it for fun. I hate it when people are obsessing over it. Plus I think they can get kinda boring after watching a game every freaking day. Today was terrible for example, everyone won't shut the hell up about the Cavs losing. On and on and on about it, I DONT FREAKING CARE!!
You see, you're not going to get why people get obsessed with certain sports until you play them yourself and like them in that way. If you had a sport that was like that for you, you'd understand. I'm sure there's loads of people who see that you like games or computers and go "Why the hell does he like computers so much, computers are boring!" Obviously you won't understand if you don't share the interest.

On that topic, I've been kind of obsessed with football since about the age of 11 or so. We don't do it as much anymore, but me and my friend Conor from up the road would sometimes end up playing football for 5 or 6 hours, maybe with small breaks for a bit of food from the shop or something. The fact is, all we needed was a football to entertain us, and there are still a lot of days when we just get a football, put on our shittiest clothes, and go down the road to play football and do skills and stuff. Of course, you won't get this obsession if you don't share a similar obsession with some sport.

Also, watching the game kind of goes hand in hand with playing it. If you love playing something, you'll end up watching it on TV most of the time. I mean, my god, some football games can be boring, but I still end up watching them because it's football and I love football. The reason I support Arsenal is actually because I think they play the best and most entertaining football. Their matches are never boring for me, when an Arsenal match is on it's impossible to have a conversation with me for the best part of two hours. lol

I'm talking more about watching than playing - I enjoy doing sport (I have 6 hours a week), but everyone here in France is obsessed with football/soccer scores and I honestly couldn't care less. I guess I cared a bit when like the entire Australian Rugby team came from my home town and managed to beat the Kiwis who are all like 8 feet tall and 8 feet across...

Also, I can't keep a straight face in gyms - they're full of super serious guys pumping iron with super serious expressions, like you need to concentrate in order to run on the spot for 45 minutes: listen, Aikido takes concentration - hell, baseball takes concentration, playing fucking frisbee takes concentration, but lifting something heavy up, then putting it down, then lifting it back up over and over again? Not to mention how pointless an activity it is when you think about it - I mean make your mind up, do you want it up or down!?

BTW I have a pretty eclectic taste in music - guess the best example I can give of house music I like is Faithless:

First time I've seen that music video - odd :?

I know how you feel, but again, you won't get it because you don't share a similar style interest. My friend Dan goes to a gym about 4 times a week, he's turned into a serious muscle freak since we went to college, but he gets so much enjoyment from it I don't even mind. He's seriously muscley, like I wouldn't want to get that muscley. Me and Conor are going to join the same gym as Dan because it's not as busy as the other gyms inside in town and it's more relaxed. I wouldn't want to be in a gym with 100 muscle freaks leering at me because I'm using the machine they want to use and I'm not even doing it right.

Anyway, I only want to use a gym to keep my body in shape, I think Conor may want to beef himself up a bit, which is cool, but I wouldn't have any interest in it. I think most people prefer the toned look to the over-muscley look.

Scary - I also have a friend called Dan who is a serious muscle freak (awesome guy mind) - I wonder if all people called Dan hang around in gyms? If so then parents, don't call your children Dan! Or do, I dunno, whatever floats your boat...

How can you so perfectly summarise my feelings? I was laughing at them but it was a very nervous laugh :D

I know a Dan who is the skinniest person I have ever seen.

His skinniness combined with his long hair makes him look like a human mop.

...

I wonder if I could convince him to wear dreadlocks...
