Upgrading a mac
Hey guys, I know there are a lot of mac users in our community so I wanted an advice. I wanted to buy an Imac or a Macbook but before speinding so much money this question came to my mind. If I ever want to get more RAM for the Imac or a better graphic card, can I do it without having to buy custom parts or something?

build yourself a pc, or if you don't want windows, you can turn it into a hackintosh.

Re: Upgrading a mac
iMacs used to be a pain to upgrade, although they have easy access to the RAM and such now. MacBooks (from what I remember) have hardwired graphics cards but the RAM and hard drive are easy to get at.
The main thing you wanna look at is, do you want portability (MacBooks) or something inexpensive (compared to other Apple machines) to get you through highshool/college (iMac). If you really want an Apple machine that you can easily upgrade, get a MacPro tower (they're the most expensive but if you really want a mac, will last you the longest).

If you want to upgrade, don't get an iMac. Simple as that.
That's what iMacs are for: People who don't want to think of such things. Quick an easy and hella useless if you want any extra power.
Dual Processor Pro here, and recently doubled my memory with only a quarter the extra amount of sticks.
Yum.

Re: Upgrading a mac
The only thing I heard related to this is that Apple's RAM costs a shit-ton, so it is preferable to upgrade using third party RAM.
