*sigh* that would be truly awesome for a really good game to be made that didn't insult the player's intelligence.

My point was, in fact, Left 4 Dead doesn't.

I think their reasoning was pretty clear.

anywhoodles going back onto the original point of this thread, i just found out that mirror's edge 2 has been confirmed, assassins creed 2 is out on the 20th november, and left4dead2 is to be released on the 17th november

so since thee is so many good games coming out within the next year or so, im willing to take offers if anybody wants another kidney? lol i mean i dont need two, i can live on just one although admittedly, the length and quality of my life would be severely reduced but ill overlook that minor little problem...

To be honest, i can see why someone would want to tell the player directions or whatever upfront ... subtle hints are cool, but only if you actually catch them ... if you don't the game could get frustrating quickly ...

That's why there's such a thing as audience targeting. Say that the game has a lot of important, hard-to-notice details on the box description, and you're set.

sorry for the necromancy here, i know you dont like it, but it seemed a little pointless to make another thread for it and i didnt wanna derail any other threads

so anyway, found out the other day, gears of war 3 is out next april, and they are apparently making a film which is slated for release this summer some time (dunno if this is true though)(oh and you will either love it or hate it, because the exec. producer for the gears film is the exec. producer for twilight!)

And so I lost all my faith in humanity.

But on a serious note, a Gears of War movie might have something special to contribute with.

I don't hate Twilight. In fact, I've never read nor watched anything to do with the Twilight franchise.

All I know about it is that it involves vampires that sparkle in sunlight.

Vampires were cool before Twilight turned them into sparkly male strippers.

I think the story is pretty dull.

Boy meets Girl
Boy falls deeply in love with Girl
Girl falls in love with Boy
Boy cannot be in love with Girl
Girl admits feelings for Boy
Boy tells big secret to Girl
Girl is scared, but stays with Boy
Boy runs away to prevent Girl from getting heartbroken
Girl is in danger
Boy saves Girl
Boy stays with Girl
Girl and Boy are happy together

Is it just me... or have I heard this story before?

Also, the herd of fangirls of the movies is getting seriously ridiculous.

EDIT: The next movie where Vampires are (as they should be) evil creatures longing for human blood, and includes bullets, swords and whatnot, is going to be cut in pieces by fanatic twilight-fans and hailed by the rest of us.
